Agreed, Corey is amazing…. Totally unique and shouldn’t be compared with Tommy. There is enough room in this world that they can both hold their place as straight inspirational to us normal humans.
This is the best Layla cover I've ever seen, period! I'm a huge Clapton fan but this cover, in my opinion, is better than Clapton's any unplugged rendition of Layla. How can one be so fluent, savvy, amazing and heartful with guitar? Well, I think it's a one word answer ----- practice.
Come on… I love all the versions of Clapton including the latest ones.. full of soul… nothing can top that including the vocals… the version with the blue Martin in particular.
@@gowwar491 Was I so inarticulate, mate? I said that this cover is *in my opinion* the best because of all the splendid work Corey has done here. Like I said, I'm a huge EC fan, and I apparently love all his covers. You don't have to have a say on everything.
@@prathameshbhambure sorry if i offended you man, it was not my intention… it’s just that in my opinion that the best covers are the ones of the man himself. The voices doing the chorus are so good… the piano….and the voice of Clapton. But this cover is good, no doubt on that - especially the mixing of the solo while keeping the chords.
Felicidades de los mejores guitarristas acusticos e interpretes que eh escuchado esta es la mejor interpretacion guitarristica y vocal que eh escuchado de layla de erick clapton FELICIDADES!!
Wow. This was my mom’s favorite song. I only wish she was still alive to hear this, she died of brain cancer. She would have loved it. I know I do. I’ll listen and think of her. Beautiful. Thank you. 💜
Well done! Looks like a Takamine lawsuit guitar? Sweet. I must have had too much fun in high school, not enough memory to lay down that many changes& leads. Thx for sharing the talent!
Named my daughter after this beautiful song. The mother had a list of insane names because that was the cool thing celebrities were doing at the time. I had one name and she loved it. Same with my son. I wanted Keegan but since her friend had a son with that name. Settled on Riley.
Good lord, man. I randomly bumped into this video. You’re an assassin on the fretboard. Kudos to you. There’s guys like me that have played guitar for 30 years and either can’t remember a song I learned yesterday, or can’t play what I learned yesterday because of hand pain……and then there is this dude. Glad to know you’re out there my man
this was insanely good!! i get motivated 1000x by hearing you playing but at the same time i want to throw my guitar in the trashcan. keep these banger covers coming!
This is the best version I've heard besides the original. I can tell you have a natural feel for music and also put the work in to get as good as you are. Great stuff man.
I think the interest comes from hearing him perform unaccompanied. I often think the test of a piece or song is, how does it sound on unaccompanied piano or guitar?
he is nothing special dude ... if he makes an original hit song that would be something else of course. but theres thousands upon thousands like him out there- this one does not deserve a rec contract anymore than the next one ...
Man! Not only this to me is one of the best songs of all time but this is one of the, if not THE best covers I've ever heard. Hat down, even though I don't have one on !!
Layla What'll you do when you get lonely And nobody's waiting by your side? You've been running and hiding much too long You know it's just your foolish pride Layla, you've got me on my knees Layla, I'm begging, darling please Layla, darling won't you ease my worried mind I tried to give you consolation When your old man had let you down Like a fool, I fell in love with you You turned my whole world upside down Layla, you've got me on my knees Layla, I'm begging, darling please Layla, darling won't you ease my worried mind Make the best of the situation Before I finally go insane Please don't say we'll never find a way And tell me all my love's in vain Layla, you've got me on my knees Layla, I'm begging, darling please Layla, darling won't you ease my worried mind Layla, you've got me on my knees Layla, I'm begging, darling please Layla, darling won't you ease my worried mind
Oh man, I've been waiting forever to see you do this one. Stand-out job and yet another one I'll watch many many times in my vain attempts to emulate your chops.
What the fuck is wrong with the music industry? Will some please sign this man and elevate him to the greatness he already has......this guy is the total package, he is pure talent yet you package and sell people halfass no talent shit birds. This is the total deal people, he has it all. If I met him I would give him my guitar. PEACE!!!

Love it, Corey. That you do all this on acoustic impresses me even more. Your voice is so good, please take special care of it for us. I may be wrong, but I think I hear you pushing hard for some notes? If you are not already, get a *good* vocal coach to help your voice soar without injury, allowing you to do the growls and screams and vocal fry without degrading your vocal chords. You may need special tools to make it work whilst seated, which can crunch up the breath works. Take it from an older singer, I burnt my chords out before I knew that I could have prevented damage and still rocked out. For example, the Complete Vocal Institute studies vocal function scientifically and teaches singers to care for and rock their instrument, regardless of genre. I worked with Raz Kennedy, a CVI instructor, and he's a marvelous force of nature! I learned so much; only wish I had done so sooner. Take care, Corey, looking forward to your next livestream!
Its funny when people compare guitarists and even argue who's the best ever...there really isn't one, but one thing for sure this DUDE is an EXCEPTIONAL one just like the ones folk argue over.... 🙏
I caught a live stream where he played it, and it was just as good as you’d expect! (Maybe it was last week as I type this comment so you could try to search for that livestream)
Exceptional cover 👍 My only criticism are the faces you pull while singing.. make you look like you're trying to drink vinegar through your eyes, but apart from that 😊
Fantastic cover bro 😎 one of my favourite songs. I did an acoustic version of this on RU-vid also. If you can give me a critique on it it would be great 👍
Bro every single one of your covers blows me away. I keep watching video after video thinking "ok, this one will probably be mid" but nope, you knock it out of the park every single time.
@@timothygreer2400 Hope you less then 15 and practicing guitar playing more than 2 hours daily. They say , you must practice 10 000 hours to master the instrument. I playing more than 20 years and I am beginner compared to Mr Heuvel, bc I was playing may be 500 hours in 20 years. Last 10 month I play (practice) more than hour a day and made progress but its nothing compared to Mr Heuvel skills.
