Hi Eamonn, thank you for choosing to watch those videos instead of doing some modelling!! 😆. The Slaters sheets are approximately 0.5mm thick so cut very easily with a couple of passes of a craft blade. I use enamel paints for most of my brickwork and have never had any issues with it adhering to the plastic. If using acrylic however it may be necessary to prime the plastic prior to painting. The card stock is primarily Daler board, a 1.5mm heavy cars that is used by picture framers for mounting artwork, etc and can usually be bought in art supply shops although if you can get foam board more readily it will do the job just as well. Episodes 8 and 9 of the shop build will also give you further information on producing the tiled roof from layering up the slaters sheet to the final painting stages.
