Hello my 'Q'uties,
Today's nailspiration is all about testing out the Lazy Girl Method with Builder Gel. I searched all of RU-vid to see if there was anyone doing this for us builder gel lovers and I didn't find anything...... so I figured I'd try it for you all and bring the lazy girl method to the world of builder gel. I paired it with a beautiful nail foil design and some over the top bling. I hope you guys enjoy.

These are bomb asf girl! I’m so happy Femi Beauty started this method and that you brought it to the Gel World cause I definitely didn’t think it would work with builder gel but you showed me it was possible! Yw hun. Just be sure to etch the nail tip and add base coat like you would to your natural naila for a longer hold.

I have been wondering! Newb to doing my nails I started with acrylic and moved to gel and what a game changer! I love Poly for fills, but BG is in a class of it's own for clarity! I wondered if I could glue my full cover tips with it and my Makkart peel off base! Awesome and thank you!!! 😁

Hi cutie. You certainly can glue your tips with it just etch the inside of the tip so it won't pop off. 😉

I used a colored gel and I notice the colder my house the stiffer the gel is but not my.clear ones so if it works please tag me in your photos on IG so I can see ur work. Thanks hun

Thank you so much for the information, I will be doing some nails tonight with my builder gels. You know is there a way I can make my own colored builder gel or would that affect how the gel works? Like adding some uv/led gel polishes to some?? Maybe I'll try this cause I don't ever see any kind of video's on how to use builder gels.

Hi sweetie I have a video on mixing pigment powders with clear builder. I did gel polish ones off camera which I use in some of my bidets and they are all still holding up really good. Hi huni. I would say max 7 days if you just use the gel base coat.

@@DazzlingStar07 you can etch the inside of the tip well and also do a good prep on your nails. Use something stronger like acrylic or builder gel to help it last longer

@@QutieNails i do all that. But when i try to glue the extension to my nail with builder gel the extension comes off and the builder gel settles like polygel. We don't get the builder gel that sticks the ex to the nail bed. We get the hard gel type builder gel in my country

Hi sweetie... im working at it. Yeah I did the exact sizeon my fingers , however I think next time I might go a size up on my ring fingers because when I add the gel its a gap on the side wall of both hands after curing

If you still need a lamp there a inexpensive one sold by Beetles on Amazon. Look for Beetles gel tip and glue gel kit. For only $17.99 or $19.98 and it works just like the KS one. I have both and the only difference is priced. Hope this helps🥰

Femi Beauty was the creator/maker of the lazy girl apr'e dupe method love 😉 P.s get yourself a UV flashlight and flashlight stand off Amazon it's easier to hold the nail down and then put it under the light

This is awesome I been trying to answer this question fir weeks and I finally found your video! Thank you so much! I did want to mention and you may already know but if you don’t you should check out madam glams colored builder gel girl they have so many colors magenta violet coral beige tan light pink sheer pink etc check it out! Thanks again love this I haven’t been able to use some apres sculpted tips I got cuz my nails are so flat I think this method may solve that issue! Stay Blessed!

Hi sweetie in this video I didn't because i had the desing on top but you certainly can and just do the design on the gel you placed under the tip. You can also etch the tip and add base coat and cure before applying the gel to make sure it doesn't pop off. That should give you at least a week or more of wear depending on how you take care of your nails doing household chores and such.

I’m new at this. I tried it but my fingers get so sticky how do you get it off ? I tried alcohol. That’s the only part I never hear anyone mentioned how to keep from getting sticky stuff everywhere 😅

Hi huni. The sad part is you can't avoid the sticky stuff from getting all over and I too use alcohol and lint free wipes to get it throughly cleaned by rubbing each nail at a time. Sorry I'm not more help... but the stickiness can be a pain at times for me as well.

@@QutieNails yes,, do you have to take off gel top coat to do something different, like color polish, gel & reg., foil, etc

Yes huni you can put anything on top of it. Like if you wanted to do foils you can put the foil glue on top and add the foil. The top coat is just another layer. I recommend though if you don't want really thick nails just buff or file off the top coat and then add it back later once you have applied your polish or foils

Yes I have attached full cover tips with buildergel before, so you can definitely do that but if you are gonna cure the buildergel first and then attach the tips, I don't think that will work well

Ok I see yes it will stick. I thought your were gonna try to just glue the nail after curing the gel. It will stick but it may not last long if you don't rough up the surface of the buildergel after curing

I sweetie sorry for taking so long to reply. Busy busy, but I love buildergel and started using it shortly after a few months of polygel. If you aren't use to it you can get discouraged using IBD so try a more thicker one like venalisa or the pottle... IBD is very runny and can be frustrating doing the lazy Girl Method with it.

Same!! I did them on my mom 😭😭 the full cover tips popped off and left some jagged builder gel lol

@@karaclason noooo hun sorry that happened. Are you doing these with pel off base coat like I did because it will pop off.... I only did this set for the video If you want it permanent prep the nails well and use regular base coat.

Oh man. That's so messed up. One thing you can try is etching the inside of the nail so the gel has something to stick too. Unlike hybrids like polygel, hard gel needs something to rough so it can stay on. Try etching the inside of the tip before applying the gel and tell me if that worked or not

That IBD builder gel- yeah, you can pay about $40 and get an 8oz compared to paying about $20 for only 2oz......... Just so people know.

@@QutieNails i figured that the rest of the comment section would love to know this lovely info in regards to Amazon and its prices of products. However, I have taken to using an old base coat bottle and carefully putting in the builder gel from the 8oz bottle and have created a, well, DIY builder in a bottle.

Omg that us so creative wow. I never thought of doing that. How is it working for you. Did it change the consistency alot working with the mix of builder and base coat in the bottle. Im interested to know hun.

@@QutieNails didn't change the consistency of the builder gel as i used nearly all of the base coat. The builder gel is just in a far easier container and less likely to act like Houdini and get out of the builder gel pot that is just sitting still not being touched but still somehow gets out of the pot. ETA- plus as both types of gel have a tacky layer after curing I didn't have to worry about the curing consistency (unlike mixing builder gel and top coat) as they both would/will cure in 60 seconds under LED light.
