This is a followup to the previous video about LC tank or RLC network circuits, which directly generate sine wave signals and are the core of a whole family of full analog oscillator circuits. This is a demonstration using the Falstad circuit simulator found online.

If I remember correctly, LC Tanks are good for when you need frequencies in the MHz range, where a 555 would simply top out. Especially variable frequencies.

Another thing they're used in that's pretty neat is capacitive sensors, like touch sensors and liquid sensors, because they detect variable capacitance.

Yep, sine and cosine are the same wave, just out of phase by 1/4 of a wave. They come from circles.

Thanks! An excellent follow-up to part one, because a picture is worth a thousand words. What is the link to part three? EDIT: Meaning, the details of how to build the amplification and feedback necessary to sustain the oscillation. If you have not made that video, yet, please make it for a frequency of 60Hz, if that is convenient, because that is the frequency that I need. Please and thank you.
