While your at it put a 10 meter beacon up there for propagation you can use a Comm spec ID-8 which will tap out cw on a htx 100 rad shack radio . This way we can see how many can recieve from that site .plus you could cruise around listening on 28.200 ish see how that works . I always figured while repeater sites got Uhf vhf equipment in them a 10m cw beacon is being missed out on see where 5-10 watts gets you. 73z
Thumbs up to your tower guy. I "used to" work on towers and those zig zag cross brace are a bear to climb. Hard on the ankles and rough if it's any way dewy or damp, they get slick quick. Nice job 73 W9DLP
We are very fortunate to have a professional tower climber in our club. We have several others that will climb our towers as well. Can't thank those guys enough! Thanks for watching!
Your club is blessed with professional talent and perhaps deep pockets. Your works are so well done, my jaw drops. Our local repeater is a mess compared to yours. Harsh winters, difficult access and a small club have lead us to a pile of ancient equipment wallowing in rat doing, but it mostly works.
@@LCARAHAMRadio, no me are in the mountains and the road is already blocked with snow and we can’t get to it again until spring. I’m out of town 99% of the year, so can’t lead any effort to improve things. I don’t have the money for a new repeater. I think the old guys in the local club like keeping it working without investing into it. It made it through last winter and I guess it will this winter too. I was up there last summer and cleaned up a good bit. There used to be TV equipment up there too. It is a shared location and no one takes the leads in marking certain it is clean and maintained. In the winter the mice move it to get out of the wind and I can’t blame them. I like seeing how nice and clean and professionally installed your new set up is. I guess your old setup had fallen in to disrepair. I guess repeater installations go through cycles of brand new, still operating, and finally broke. When ours breaks completely there will be impetus to improve it.
