I enjoyed this video. I have the low powered 10-40m version of this antenna and it has pleasantly surprised me. From Georgia and with just 8 Watts, I've reached as far away as Central Europe, Northern Brazil, Peru, Hawaii and Vancouver, Canada using this antenna. My next purchase will be the one you just reviewed, because my next radio will be in the 100+ Watts range. Thanks again for a great video.

You should have made arrangements to contact one of your HAM buddies that lives a couple hundred miles away,, these contacts are just too close for this type of demo

Been considering giving this antenna a try. How long of a counterpose did you use?

I am using this 1982 antenna and running frequency sweeps with my nano vna. I can't get a good SWR on 80m and 10m 12m through 40 m is ok. I am doing frequency sweeps for the general class range.

There's a video where someone shows how if you add a 300pf capacitor right in the middle, 75 swr is low.

You said you had this transformer off the ground. How high and how high was the tail end? Thanks KN4JKM

Good video. I have the low power version.. Have to use tuner to get SWR down. So, I wonder if I shouldn't just use a G5RV? I thought it was goin to work without a tuner.. However, I will now try to lower the box and see what I get. THanks for the video!

Also consider using a counterpoise as well. Although the product description says you do not have to, play with different lengths of wire to see if that helps.

Wait, so you have a rigid attachment to your tree and your house?!?!?!! Ok so what happens to your antenna when the tree sways 3 feet in the wind?

I have the longer end fed version and found that it is a decent receiving antenna. I do not find it to be an antenna with which I make many contacts. I've used QRP as well as QRO (

@Ken Knox - I hear you. I didn't have much luck with it in the only one application in my backyard. I fear it was to low for much work above 20M. For NVIS, it worked pretty well for 40 & 80M. I gave it to another member and he's killing with it. So height does make a difference.

@@LCARAHAMRadio And the counterpoise. Remember that an end-fed is really only half an antenna. You need to attach a counterpoise to the feedpoint for best results.

@@denelson83 I agree. Without a couterpoise, multiple wires actually, this antenna will not work efficiently.
