Thank you very much. I am not a handy man but with this video, I managed to replace my damaged screen with a new one and saved at least 50 Euro installation costs.
Great video thank you! Do you have to replace the bezel around the screen after replacement with a new one? Or could you simply try carefully removing it with warm/hot air and reuse it after replacing the screen and the 3 sticky tapes?
Glad it helped you. Best recommendation is to use a new one after replacement. But yes you can also try to remove it carefully and reuse it. Using hot air can also help. Regards 👋 👋
@@IFixTech1 Short update for everyone trying that as well. You can reuse the bezel if you veeery carefully remove it (Have in mind that this tooks way longer than on the video). Hot air really helps. You can pretty easily remove the old double sided tape from the bezel after you removed it and replace it with new tape. Thanks for your help. Now i have a 2K panel in my T14 AMD G1 😊
@@morise907 thank you. did you use the red roll of thin transparent double sided tape to tape down the bezel itself? Or just double sided tape for the display panel? Is the bezel held down with glue or with double sided tape?
Hi, Lenovo recommends a new one to be installed after screen replacement. If you remove yours carefully without damaging the tapes, you can reuse the old one. Thanks for your like and subscribing 😉👋
You can used the Lenovo website pcsupport.lenovo.com With the computer serial number look in "Parts lookup" there you will see all the compatible models you can used. Regards 👋👋
Is the screen bezel glued all way around? There seem to be some clips on the top. I need to clean up camera cover from the inside. Will I need to replace glued tape in this case?
Hello, it uses some glues that go in the top corner. Here some samples on eBay. www.ebay.com/itm/155311575496?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=-aaDiLp0RpG&sssrc=2524149&ssuid=-aaDiLp0RpG&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
I managed to clean the camera cover without tape replacement. I opened bezel clips on the top from the camera up to the glued corners. The gap was enough to clean the camera window. After that, I just pushed the clips back in. People in meetings will not think that I'm joining from a sauna anymore 😅 Thank you for the helpful video.
Nice video. One question : Who is the manufacturer of these panels? Is it Lenovo themselves that make them or do they outsource to third manufacturers ? Thanks in advance!
Hello, I'm not really sure but I believe both cases are true. Lenovo manufacturers most of their part but they also use 3rd party companies in some cases 👋
Lenovo making each generation harder and harder to work on and more fragile. This is absolutely ridiculous. From T450s to T14s 2nd gen, we have lost : removable batteries to non removeable, changeable keyboards and trackpads to top panel replacement, changeable screens to fragile glued on panels with glued on bezels, a reliable charging port to a fragile usb c. It is much more frail and prone to failure. Terribly poor engineering or done in purpose by lenovo
