Home Home Home Home Home Home Take me home Just do it right Make it perfect and real Because it's everything Though everything, was never the deal So grab your things and stumble into the night So we can shut the door And shut the door on terrible times Oh Yeah, do it right And head again into space So you can carry on And carry on, and fall all over the place This is the trick, forget a terrible year That we can break the laws Until it gets weird And this is what you waited for But under lights, we're all unsure So tell me What would make you feel better? As night has such a local ring And love and rock are fickle things And you know it Yeah, you know it Yeah, you know Ahh, ah Ahh, ah Take Forget your past This is your last chance now And we can break the rules Like nothing will last You might forget Forget the sound of a voice Still, you should not forget Yeah, don't forget The things that we laughed about And after rolling on the floor And thankfully, a few make sure that you get home And you stay home And you better 'Cause you're afraid of what you need Yeah, you're afraid of what you need If you weren't, if you weren't I don't know what we'd talk about Ahh, ah Ahh, ah Ahh, ah Ahh, ah Yeah, no one ever knows what you're talking about So I guess you're already there No one opens up when you scream and shout But it's time to make a couple things clear If you're afraid of what you need If you're afraid of what you need Look around you, you're surrounded It won't get any better And so, goodnight
I really love how the final song in the album resolves the most consistent theme present in the rest of the album, which is to say, wanting to go home. A very satisfying ending to an incredible album.
@Paul M one of the most baffling things ever is how long the world went without any bands aping that Remain In Light style. It's such fertile ground and it lay fallow from 81 to like 2004
One of the greatest music videos of all time. I don't think I've ever seen a video clip that so perfectly captures thee essence of the song so perfectly as this. Magic.
daniel11357 my son and his SoCal partner Rick shot this. I’m the old man building the robot. It’s still getting thousands of views. Thanks for your positive comment. Peace

@@saturatedneowax I listen to both of these songs quite a bit. After I first heard This Must Be The Place, I listened to every day at least once for about 6 months.

Ive been searching for this song since 2011. Didnt know the name of it. And how do you hum it to someone so they get which song you're taking about. I waited till i heard it on the radio. Then 2016 I heard it randomly on the radio and i shazamed that shit. I feel so blessed. :)
At the time i went through JJJ hottest 100 list from 2010 to 2015 ( Surely it would have been in there?) And it wasn't. I found a lot of tracks using Shazam. But only if the track is playing and you can hear it. For 5 years i had that song in the back of my mind. Until it played on the radio in 2016. The thing is when it comes up i was surprised cause ive heard of LCD sound system. i just didnt know "Home" was one of them. Thanks to Shazam, i have it now. :)
fan video...or official video? either way, excellent job of capturing the song's meaning ( at least the meaning I have in my head)! thx for posting this
Me too. I used to walk by that house where the Mexican kid takes the robot where everyone is laying down. I knew the girl on the left of the porch with blonde hair sitting with guy next to her.
My first homemade halloween costume was similer to this. It was a huge hit, won the contest and several life lessons learned: built a costume not buy. Im going back to the beginning this halloween with a 2022 new n improved!!!
Me neither, I’m the old man building the robot. I don’t look anything like that anymore. Can you believe this video still gets thousands of views per month?
"Home" by American electronic music band LCD Soundsystem, track 9 from the 2010 album "This Is Happening." ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aBpl8YH9cjQ.html Lyrics: Home Home Home Home Home Home Take me home Just do it right Make it perfect and real Because it's everything Though everything, was never the deal So grab your things and stumble into the night So we can shut the door And shut the door on terrible times Oh Yeah, do it right And head again into space So you can carry on And carry on, and fall all over the place This is the trick, forget a terrible year That we can break the laws Until it gets weird And this is what you waited for But under lights, we're all unsure So tell me What would make you feel better? this video is awesome and made me laugh :-) love the face on the robot! also, i watched that grizzly bear video and it doesn't seem like plagiarism to me anyways. the only similarities are that they both have someone fiddling with electronics and a cardboard bot painted silver.. however, i seriously doubt either of these ideas are exactly unique. no offense, i'm just sayin', lots of people i know made cardboard robot movies in high school (or after, hehe) with similar imagery.
I miss 1995. I miss 2004. I miss the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018. I miss the end of 2019 and beginning of 2020 (yes, really). I feel like a fuckup and I let so many opportunities slip by and I lost what I really wanted. I’ve been so fucking selfish and yet I’ve never really tried to just make myself happy. I miss my friend who passed and this song hit me like a ton of bricks thinking of him. I don’t know what to do with myself at this point and I don’t think any amount of motivation is going to unfuck things. I’m tired and I can never get rested enough. I have love in my life that I love too and can’t hurt but I question if I even want it anymore. I’m lost at a stupid old age when I should have everything figured out. I’m an irredeemable asshole. I lost most of my friends and family and I’m probably on track to lose the rest but I probably deserve to be alone. But maybe I’m happier alone. I miss the stupid long drives I would take all the time where I was alone with myself for hours. I don’t know if things will ever get better or happier and I really don’t think they ever will. I really don’t know what to do.
Shoot me a few lines if you like. It's safe enough. I have nothing to sell you. I'm way too old for that shit anyway. But I do have a very simple philosophy that works for me, and I have a vision for the Future. You need to start by having the right core ideas in your head. A healthy world view. Realistic, but not nihilistic. But I'll leave it at that for now, till I get a clearer picture of what you've got going on. At least you picked a great band and song and video to comment on. Definitely a good sign.
Wait what? If not for a friend discovering this comment thread i wouldn't have seen it! Haha YESSSSS man, this song pulled me through 2019, thanks to everyone involved in the brilliant video!!
I know one of the dudes that made this and some of the people in the vid. i use to live right down the street from sparkle burger as well. miss this time in Houston.
