Yep. I heard the melody on a traditional Greek dance Facebook post. They only listed the instrument 'traditional greek etc i searched. After a few i find it..its called zorba. Then went searching for pop remixes of Zorba to finally un-earth this ancient gem that scarred me as an 8 year old 😂

This used to be on every music channel non stop in the 90s. When I went to Greece a few years ago, I heard "Zorba the Greek" and it immediately brought me back to this.
I've been searching for this song for YEARS! No-one believed me when I hummed it and said the video was fat cartoon people bouncing around yelling "hey" 😂
Jeez, I was 18 when this came out... It was a hit single twice within a year in the UK, and whilst I can't pretend to have been a die-hard fan of this song at the time, the nostalgia of hearing a once-massive (bearing in mind it was all over the radio, was constantly on MTV, and was a huge hit in the clubs), but now largely-forgotten, tune really hit the now-44-year-old me hard... Fabulous to see / hear this again!
Thank god i remembered that this resembles to zorbas the greek song (and dance ) and i finally found it!! I used to listen to it on a cassette that i had back on 90's!! I'm greek btw!! 😂😂❤❤🇬🇷🇬🇷

This is one of the handful of music videos that you saw as a kid that lives rent free in your head but you have no clue if it actually exists. Kids will imagine large dancing greek men to a techno soundtrack, believe me, they will do it. But I'm nonetheless happy to know that although my imagination may be vivid, its not that vivid, Bless this being actually real. Ps. yes barbie girl is a part of that group too, but its so much harder to ignore as a childhood fabrication 🤣
