‘BOXIN’ TROTTIN’ is a new music video from a group of young boys living in Abbeyfeale. As the lyrics make clear, these boys are proud members of the Traveller community and have created a new piece of work about their way of life in West Limerick. This video and music track was made with support from Creative Ireland’s Traveller Wellbeing through Creativity programme, with The GAFF as key partner, and with enormous support from St. Mary’s Boys National School, Abbeyfeale where the work was created. Some of the footage features the first images of ‘Paint Punch’ a new- painting technique developed by artist Frank McCarthy where participants use boxing gloves to apply paint to boards to create.
