Thanks for video. Myself just bought both ALS-600s and LDG AT-600pro II autotunner. I will be on the air within 2 weeks after new antenna goes up. Kv4op.
Good video! Mine came in the mail today. It was nice to see the unit in action - I still have to finish my dipole and grounding. Picked up an Ameritron 811 recently too.
Great video thanks for showing i sent it to a good friend who is looking for a auto tuner, i like how u demonstrated this so great video... James G0SEC I have the 1000proII it is great.
Not sure where is says in the manual that Antenna 1 is bypassed, maybe this is just default as both Antenna 1 and 2 work in line with the tuner or you can bypass both Antenna 1 or 2 or individually. You can put the unit in auto mode and you'll have no need to hit the tune button, all you do it introduce a carrier and the unit will automatically start the tuning process. Also once you have tuned on a band lets say 40m and tune then go to another band say 20m and tune and then back to 40m, you do not need to tune again, just introduce the carrier again and it will remember the band and setting and it will recall the previous tune straight away. You can save a few tuning stages along the band from bottom to top or vice versa, that way you just key down a carrier anywhere on that band and you are already tuned as the unit will recall the setting previously stored straight away, turn on the amplifier and key carrier for a quick check that the swr is still ok, switch back to ssb mode and your good to go :) Nice video though, cheers :)
Kevin. The tuner is a bit load compared to an internal on a radio but not to bad at least to me. It does a better job tuning my multi band then the ftdx3000 tuner. My other radio is a ts2000 it had no problem with the dipole but the yaesu has problems on 15 meters. The ldg tunes all bands fine. A solid state amp is not as forgiving of high swr like a tube amp is the ldg does a great job for me but keep in mind alot is determined by antenna placement and soundings. My multi band is in my attic and not in a conventional pattern but tunes down fine. Hope this helps.
I have been looking at that same set up to go with my 1200dx but still not sold on the ldg 600 I have read they are quite loud and have an issue on some bands bringing swr below 1.7. I have a few multi band wires that are about 2.5 without a tuner ant thoughts
Question? I have Kenwood 440 & a LDG at1000 alto tuner and a ameritron 811, my problem being is im running a g5rv and at this point it will only tune to 40 meters need to add more coacts? cause my impedance is not right ... Question to u what antenna would you recommend for my setup and that would work well with the at1000?
Why surprised? The most internal ATU of the transceivers have a maximum tuning range from 16 - 150 Ohms. By almost all of the multiband-antennas you need a antenna tuner...
You won't need the 704 with the ts2000 most newer radios will interface them self. The internal tuner works great just use the ldg with the amp to handle the power. Multiband in the attic not the best antenna setup but has do do for now.
So how do you have the ALS-600 hooked up to the TS-2000? Does it operate solely off of RF drive, or is there a relay interface between the ALS-600 to the TS-2000?
I have the same setup as you, except I have a IC-7300. Do you ever have "Load Fault" issues when transmitting on 80 meter? My SWR is about 1.6:1....at about 200 watts, my "Load Fault" LED comes on. I can transmit at 500 watts on 20 meters no problem, with up to a 2:1 SWR. Just curious if you have any issues on 80 meters. Using a G5RV inverted dipole, BTW.
