This was my favorite episode to date. It's so damaging to the official narrative all the historical accounts on top of the forensic evidence you've already given to date...and then you have John Taylor's ancestor saying he had a personal revelation about it. I mean...WOW. Mind=blown. 🤯🤯🤯

I'm a descendant of Emma Smith. My dad is completely up to date on our genealogy and I completely agree it was an inside job. Them cowboy days were rough and that's how they all dealt with things they didn't like. Men were ki!-lers and adult‐erers so imagine this religious guy comes along and preaches chastity and holiness with a large following. Yeah... they gotta get rid of him. Same story with Jesus. His betrayer was one of his apostles

This story is so fascinating. Clearly a murder and coverup. The murderers have received their punishment and hopefully what has been hidden will be revealed. The murderers should not be protected no matter who they were. If it leaves a blemish on the church, so be it.

We know a direct descendant of Joseph Smith...a great grandson (not a great-great grandson) who we were assigned as home teachers a few years ago. He told us that they were told to avoid the Brighamite church because Brigham Young would kill them all just like he killed Joseph and Hyrum. At the time we thought that was so outrageous but not so much now. I asked this man's daughter, who is in our ward about it and she confirmed that yes, they all believed it was an inside job from the beginning. And they blamed Brigham Young, not so much as having been there but more as the instigator and planner of it.

Great video as always. I love how you point out over and over at lots of details that are no where in the historical record - "How do they know?" That is one of the main things that is so sickening about church leadership. They strut around like they know everything, and they are the 'only' source of truth, but they don't give any evidence or rationale. And when they are proven wrong, they don't apologize or admit they were wrong, they just issue a different statement, again claiming they 'know'. There is absolutely no humility with these people. Never once do they say, "we don't know" or "there may be different ways to interpret this" or "we'd like to know what you think." It's always about them, them, and them. Thanks for taking a hit for the team, and being so passionate in your research and humble in your theories.

John Taylor argued on January 23, 1848 that there is a righteous motive for killing, and the killer should not be judged by his brethren: “He did it to save his people from oppression.” “Public meeting in the middle fort it being sunday. Elder Taylor addressed the meeting. He spoke of the unjust judgments rendered by men of the world. It was not safe to judge another, because we do not know the motives that actuate men. Many a man loses his life by the unjust judgments of others for they judge by the sight of the eye and the hearing of the ear. Christ came not to judge by the sight of the eye or by the hearing of the ear, but to judge righteously. He referred to Moses who killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand. This was a righteous act of Moses. He did it to save his people from oppression. Yet he was judged by others as a murderer, and that by his brethren, who were disputing, and Moses would have been slain, but he escaped from their hands.” (Newest acquisition in the 250,000 item John Hajicek collection of Mormon material culture.)

I remember Pres Hinkley kept an image of Brigham Young behind him in his office, and whenever he had a difficult question, he would look at the image and ask himself, “What would Brigham do?” I always thought that was a weird question why he would ask what Brigham would do instead of Joseph, or Jesus for pete’s sake. Now I’m wondering if current leaders knew more about the history than they admit. They are either complicit or not that bright. There is no other option.

I saw your documentary last February and it was after a two year long faith crisis. The only thing I could do was believe in Jesus Christ and walk with him. Even though that time was so hard, I am so grateful for it, because that is how I was able to know Jesus Christ so much more! When I saw the title of your video, it caught my attention. At first I didn’t want to watch it because I was afraid it was going to give me more confusing information that would make me feel even more lost, but I really felt strongly that I needed to watch it. So I did. It was a starting point for a whole new perspective that I desperately needed. After finding your channel, I then found a whole bunch of other channels and websites that helped me so much. Doctrine of Christ, Hemlock Knots, Whitney Horning, Michelle Stone 132 problems, and so many others. I found that I could believe that Joseph Smith was a true prophet that restored the gospel again. That I could embrace and immerse myself in the Book of Mormon again and I’m understanding it so much more now than I ever did before. Thank you for the great sacrifice you have made in doing what you have done. It has helped me so much!

I really appreciate your willingness to share some of your journey. Once people understand that the church is not being truthful with their narratives, it feels like such a betrayal that the temptation is to throw everything out. But as you keep digging, more and more details begin to emerge and you begin to see that the church Brigham built is not the same church that Joseph started. If they are willing to lie about Joseph's martyrdom, it's not much of a stretch to see they could easily have been lying when they said he practiced polygamy.

I have grown up in a area with a fairly large LDS population and with that learned a lot about LDS faith growing up. This topic of JS death has been one I have more recently questioned. At least from my perspective, it seems until the dawn of the internet many didn’t know JS was armed in the jail and fired his weapon. At least you wouldn’t know if you didn’t visit the site. I always took this as a means by the church to protect the reputation of JS (like a lamb to the slaughter). Feel free to disagree but listen more to this next part. I am left here thinking now, is this backlash against you more about protecting the church since John Taylor later became church president? Had he not become president, I personally question whether you would be receiving the same sort of punitive actions. Again this is all an outsiders perspective.

The even more crazy thing to me, is why if there is an actual prophet, seer, and revelator in the church like we have all been taught our whole life...Why in the world have they not inquired of the Lord and received revelation from God on the matter to finally know the truth of it all? Obviously we don't know really understand or believe what a true prophet, seer, and revelator is according to The Book of Mormon (maybe nobody actually reads it anymore?), because we clearly do/have not have/had that in the church (meaning a true prophet, seer, and revelator) since Joseph & Hyrum.

It’s very difficult to prove a theory but it is safe to say there are anomalies that don’t add up. I can accept the theory that the mob wasn’t as aggressive as it’s portrayed, it appears they wanted the gratification of a hanging more than killing them with guns. It’s hard to get an accurate account with such a chaotic event and when the human mind is at incredible stress levels I think it’s safe to say it’s a very real possibility that possible hallucinations could’ve happened. At the end of the day a theory is just that, a theory. Both JT and WR had very suspicious "feet washing" ceremonies with married women right before they retired to bed, which was a part of the John Cochrane (Cochranite) Spiritual Wifeism practices, which originated in the same area that they served their missions. Justin, I applaud your truth-seeking effort. It’s refreshing to see a (former) member of the church actually question the truthfulness of church history because those of us on the outside looking in see it in a poor light overall. If only those on the inside would actually investigate their own church they could escape. So I understand why you would lose faith in the church, but I don’t understand why you’d still have faith in JS as a prophet. For your sake and because of your investigation talents, I think your next project should center on the central question of JS as a prophet. Were his writings accurate, a compilation of plagiarized work, inspired, or garbage? Maybe that’s too much, certainly is for most, but look what you’ve accomplished with WKJS!

@@mikespage0123 ya, the Book of Mormon and the lds church are not the same thing. The church makes it look like they are though. They use the BOM to prove their church is true. @@justin-griffin sure, tracking from one of your videos that there are more users of or groups using the BoM than most know. I hadn’t heard of the Remnant descriptor for example. Just FLDS or RLDS. My only disagreement with that segment (one of your guests) is that I’ve noticed a wide range of people in the ExMo group beyond what he described but I’m sure he made his point with brevity in mind. So no real issues. As for the literary examination of the BoM, I’m fascinated by the idea that there were parallels (some might say plagiarism) with other literary works at that time. This article is one example of that argument besides others like the Spalding-Rigdon theory. Personally I love books but I hate to read (odd I know), so I haven’t dug into these works myself. And it’s probably lazy of me to ask you or someone like Hemlock Knots to do it. It’s also a measure of respect for your thorough approach and professional final product. If either you or Hemlock Knots took that on I know it would be a truth-seeking competent endeavor and the final product would be trustworthy. Anyway, I wish you well. I’m not Mormon/LDS, so I didn’t experience the emotion in watching WKJS part 1 and 2, but I enjoyed both and look forward to part 3 (not aware if released or not). And I respect the personal risk you took to seek truth and appreciate your transparency about it. While I don’t agree about JS as a prophet nor in the veracity of the BoM, I do think the church reacted to you in an unfortunate manner and I’m glad you and your family landed safely on your feet with faith intact (even if not mine). Justin i truly believe that bcuz you are an authentic individual and began your quest for truth with altruistic beliefs and never imagined the train wreck of sorts that the Q15 has handed you and your family as they build that protective barrier around themselves just like John Taylor and Wilford Woodruff did after their plans were successful and innocent men died. There will be a reckoning for the Q15 that will be beyond belief. Leading the chorus of voices full of accusations will be Hyrum, Joseph and Emma. I have imagined that though they have found it possible to forgive John Taylor and Wilford Woodruff for their crimes in mortality, their gratitude for the sacrifice you and your wife and family have made for Truth in this matter will be expressed by them to all of you personally when you leave this probation realm and progress. That isn't much comfort, I know but it gives hope to every individual who has been the victim of the Q15's throughout the 200+years of unrighteous dominion that have punished altruistic individuals and those who will be punished in the future until the 2nd coming puts a stop to the corruption that exists today. Hang in there. It's good to see you inject humor or sarcasm or both into your analysis of the responses and conclusions of the respondents. You provide a healthy dose of cynicism to the ridiculous attempts the panels or the Q15 offered. They reveal a great deal of insight into their own characters which seems pretty shameful but it also reveals they could really care less about this whole thing and I guess that's the big difference, you actually cared. Stay with The Savior and continue to pray, He will keep you safe and close. You have many brothers and sisters who are with you. We have learned to listen more and speak less, it eliminates the target on your back and makes hearing the still small voice much easier. Good Luck!! God Bless!!

🤔🤔After watching the first two videos and about half of this one, I think it's possible that in the chaos of everything happening, Hyrum accidentally shot himself in the face after the shots through the door narrowly missed him. If you set it up with him up against the door, pushing holding a pistol in his right hand, with his finger on the trigger. 2 shots - hard push on the door - he stumbles back his right hand, coming back under his chin, and he shoots himself in the throat, with the bullet exiting by his nose. With the gunshot and stumble, he turns as he falls face down on the floor. With insult to injury, John Taylor also has a negligent discharge, and that bullet goes into Hyrum's back. Joseph believes this confirms John Taylor, a conspirator against him. Joseph & John Taylor have a gunfight. Willard Richards takes the shots at those outside the door and ultimately pushes Joseph out the window to save himself from any more shots coming in his direction. Willard & John Taylor try to hide the reality of what happened so that Joseph Smith Jr. becomes a martyr for his beliefs at the hands of a mob. Where the end was really unfortunate, mistakes in firearm muzzle discipline.

The more I've studied Isaiah, or at least tried to make sense of it, is that when a prophet comes forth (that is not from the church) people will not only be reluctant to follow but go against him in terrible ways. Think of King Noah and Abinadi. King Noah was supposedly the one leading the church with his priests. A stranger comes in and tells them to repent. Just know if we are truly one with God and Christ keeping the Spirit so close, we will be a Alma and follow him through persecution and danger.

Sorry, I feel like I am trolling your video, but I have to be fair to the case you're making. I agree with the points you make about the inside job narrative. However, I would just point out that Brigham Young, though maybe not righteous, has a pretty distinguished history of being transparent and unapologetic in his leadership of the church in his day. And we are all still here... So, even if Joseph was right in the moment he spoke, he would not live to discover he was both right...and wrong about a man HE also called friend. That said, Emma (according to Brigham) was smart. Brigham may not have known the when and where of the act, but he probably knew OF the act and that was why Emma included him in her accusations. Though Brigham and Emma had quite the spat over the years, the history records that Brigham tried to help Emma but she refused. The true "why" of that decision remains a story for her to tell at some future point if it were necessary to know. Again, I don't want you to think your work isn't solid or important. Thanks again for your great presentations here.
