Great review, thanks for taking the time and effort to share your experience with us. It's really helpful to understand what the vehicle is like and the servicing.
@@airshotmedia4950 I'm thinking of getting a new model T60. Even though the new model has a different engine your review really helps to understand what I might be getting into. It's reassuring they have a no-quibble policy on defects. LDV selling fairly well in NZ.
Thanks Chris - the paint i used was Rustoleum Ultracover (from Bunnings). Just got the Matt Black and then the Matt Clear. Probably did around 4 coats of the black and 2 coats of the clear
Great review thanks for the honesty,I’m thinking it’s good value for your money also going Monday to see if I can’t do a deal on a mega tube thanks again 👌👌👌
the temp guage on these are different to most, i had my scan tool on and got it to the last white line and was still at safe temps, normal running is half etc
@@airshotmedia4950 yeah through sand it was going over half and abit more and i was concerned but after doing a "stress" test and the scan tool to see, all seemed fine, i do want to do an external trans cooler though and that should help keep coolant temps down aswell
I have a luxe 2018. mods: I lifted the front to level the vehicle all terrain tyres roof light bar oil catch can ( catch lots of oil ;-) I never had a Drama with the Vehicle
For this price, what you will expect. I think some of the ute in the market are overpriced maybe? For me I will not spend more than 50k for a brand new ute.
Hey mate - just ticked over 136000k's - car is still going great. I don't have any visible spots of rust. I do have a weird paint blemish which has appeared in the channel above the windscreen, but I don't think it's rust - not sure what it is. Hope this helps
Thanks for reply im looking at the 2023 pro ldv not doing extreme off roading and has everything i need. Curious how you painted the grill was it easy to remove? @@airshotmedia4950
Why would you spend a fortune on a Toyota or similar they aren't value for money, the LDV in comparison is good value for your hard earned,I think the later models are a further step up and still great value.
I'm not here to convince anybody of which where they should spend their money - all I can say is that mine has been good to me (120k's now) and still running well, no rust, good off road. Pro's and con's in all cars, these included. I've seen plenty of rusty tritons too just say'n.
@@airshotmedia4950 fair enough man, each to their own, and I’m happy if you’re happy. I’ve just heard way too many horror stories about these machines failing far too early. I hope your experience differs and it offers you years and years of trouble free motoring.
Ford ranger that I drove when work ute (T60) was out of commission, was unbelievable to drive. It was a older model car as well. It was a beast of a car to drive.
I guess as their first entry into the Australian market I think it's pretty good. If you go all the way back to the very first ranger you'd probably find it was very ordinary and they've strengthened their brand over the years - again - value for money it is a great Ute. Still driving mine and still happy with my purchase
@@smartassdroid5149 no I have t got any rust issues that I can find - and I live not far from the beach. But you're right - some people have been unlucky with that.
