Mounted this rack to my father in laws LDV yesterday and used rivnuts in the tub instead of nuts and bolts. Made the job alot easier as you dont need to drill additional holes. Thanks fir the reference to which holes to use when setting it all up. Height was right first time.
Just installed the tub wrack on my 2008 ford ranger and was thinkinh i couldnt put the 270 awning on it. So glad i seen your video, now i know i can do it
Lancashire 🌹😂 sorry I didn’t see your message, I love the awning people say kings is crap and go for darche but it’s 3 times the price and I can’t see any benefits cheap and cheerful 👌🏻
Hi, like a few of the other people. Can you please post a few pics of how you mounted the 270 awning to the tub rack? Planning on doing the same thing. Cheers
Mate, im about to install this tub rack, so can you clearly tell me exactly why you needed to drill holes to get thr bolts in? (Not referring to the drilling required to fit bolts in)
Sorry mate just seen this I will try put something up for you, i just used the brackets that came with the awning but used 2 of the kings tub rack side braces on the top to make the platform I did have to go and buy bigger bolts from bunnings though because the ones supplied were too short ✌🏻
Any photos with the rooftop on as well? I’ve just purchased the rack and hard lid rooftop and a 270 awning but can’t seem to mount the awning with the hard lid hitting
Check the "Live Work Play" RU-vid channel as he installed this tub rack on a Wildtrak and also used folding brackets for the awning so his hard shell lid had space to open.
Hey mate wanting to get this setup but was told by kings you can't set up rooftop tent aswell as have the 270 awning on tub rack would love to know how you do it ??how much clearance between the back of tent and the awning brackets do you have and does it sit flush on top of eech bracket and also did you have to shuffle your tent towards driver side at all to keep away from brackets?
Yeah howd your L brackets for the awning clean the tent ? Just check your loading . The tub rack has 300kg max. With two heavy adults I going to have to reinforce the rack.
@@simondutton8993 kings awning 27kg kings tent 57kg 2 adults 150kg 1 child 31kg = 265kg we have 35 kg left before we hit maximum load 😎 I best start looking for more things to add 😂
Same just use the side bars from the tub rack on the top put two side by side and try to get the L brackets off the awning to line up with the frame of the tub rack so it’s solid
Just let it go, I have looked and can’t find any kind of material cover even thought about trying to get one like the thick plastic material made but no idea where to get the material there is a gap in the market for them
@@ReidsOnTour yeah fair. I recently got a awening on the same tub rack and just use tarp with some adjustable poles which both cover the tub and give me some extra space on the other sides.
@@deooptimomaximo9843 I like the metal tub covers with the side and back opening but it’s like $2200 it looks sweet. www.ebay.com.au/itm/295783036081?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=705-154756-20017-0&ssspo=KkFmbZlDRcq&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=froijhozsh6&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Don't cut the tub at any cost if you drop the inner plastic guard off where the wheel arch is you can now gain access to the bolts yes 2 person job but you don't wreck your tub
You need to drill the tub anyway for the bolts and if I need to remove it I’m not going to keep dismantling the wheel arches, it’s easier and more practical to make easy accessible holes
