Not a word said, just 5 actors in total, a muddy crater as the only location. And yet, the short film carries so much meaning, so many twists, so much wisdom. Wow, just wow. Simply amazing.
Of course it's not germany's fault. After all they only give full support to austria against serbia, declared war on France and russia, invaded Belgium even if they are neutral. Slaughter hundred of civilian in France and belgium. But yeah it's the mighty of the world who are the enemy.
@@legueux8478 Germany never was our ennemy. Maybe a few people leading germany were, but the germain people were more or less like any other peoples, and fought for their country.
oui je le trouve ouf ca montre les quelle point la guerre es t absurde les gens se battent pour un bout insignifiant de terre juste parcequ'on leur a dis de le faire des gens sont morts pour rien car ils sont des hommes et non pas un nombre qui détermine une victoire cette vidéo montre parfaitement a quelle point la guerre est inhumaine je suis sûr que ce genre de truc étais très présent dans la guerre notament avec le noël ou ils s'aufraient des cadeaux
La guerre est peut-être absurde sous certains angles , mais reste parfois nécessaire . Perso , je suis contre le pacifisme jusqu'au-boutisme qui nous a amenés à la défaite , en un temps record en 1940 . Salut
@@romainrousseau259 les français n'avaient pas envi de faire une guerre contre un parti ouvrier qui respecte son peuple.... Surtout que ceux qui ont déclaré la guerre sont parti directement aux États-Unis dès que ça puait... On a toujours les mêmes au pouvoir

That was a very good short, ripe with atmosphere and unapologetic honesty. As a german myself i feel relief that there is no more erbfeindschaft at least. Lets keep it this way.
Horrible guerre fratricide, ça me touche particulièrement car je suis franco-allemand. Mes 2 arrières grands-pères français et allemand étaient sur le front en 14-18, tous les deux blessés à la bataille de la Somme en 1916.
Si on part dans ces histoires... Mon arrière grand-père maternel est revenu gazé du front. Il a connu l'horreur de Verdun mais n'en a jamais parlé. Mon arrière-arrière grand-père paternel à lui combattu durant la Bataille de Maubeuge en 1914. Fait prisonnié, il meurt de pleurésie le 14 mai 1915.
In the end, they were all ordinary people fighting each other. May we respect these poor souls that fought in what was probably the most filthy, rough and muddy conflict in Human history. My grandma’s uncle was a Belgian cavalryman that joined the infantry after it became clear that horse charges were a thing of the past. He became a Lewis machinegunner. During a defense their trenches were overrun, they were stuck in a machinegun nest with a 25” deep ditch connecting it to the main trench. He crawled through it to get another box of drums for the machinegun. Until a mortarshell found him. It dropped right in the small thin trench.. The shrapnel did the rest. They held the line and afterwards he was examined by a doctor. His mates told this story to the officer and he wrote it in the report later on. He was supposed to be on leave, but his comrades didn’t. So he stayed for a few days more until they could all get a few days off together. He didn’t feel like coming back alone between people he didn’t know. He died in 1916. On my fathers side, my great granddad went to the USA for a few years before the war. When war broke out he joined the US army. And came back with the troops they sent. After fighting in the trenches he stayed in Belgium. Went back to Brussels. My granddad was born in 33 I think. His parents hid some jews as well during the war, my great grandmother was questioned by the Gestapo as well. And they beat her up. She got home all bruised and blue. My granddad was a true Bruxellois, but he always kept his fascination for the US. He grew up with his dad’s stories about the US. He died this summer, my dad found him. We retrieved lots of pictures from his father and my grandfather himself. During his travels in the US. They re in a glass cabinet in the living room now.
Definitely one of the best WW1 short films I’ve ever seen in my life!!!🙏🏻🌹 the fraternization and the different way of the representation of the war, The historical correct uniforms and equipment, the Location, The atmosphere, the details, The dirt, the emotions, the acting, the blood, short: The whole movie was just so amazingly good and historically correct...WOW!
Édifiant. Une qualité comme celle-ci devrait être davantage mise en avant dans nos médias, pour que personne n'oublie cette vérité: nous sommes tous frères, et la haine de l'autre devrait être bannie après avoir été trop présente dans les sociétés antérieures. J'espère que nous n'auront pas à revivre ces conflits, pour la mémoire de ceux qui se sont battus pour que nous vivions libres et en paix.
Ich muß ehrlich sagen, daß dies Film mich sehr betroffen hat. Der ist sehr realistisch und toll gefilmt! Dies ist bloß die beste Weise ums Gedenken zu benutzen: den jüngeren Generationen zu zeigen, daß der Krieg nur entsetztlich ist und wir sind so dumm uns einander zu töten. In Armut sind wir alle Brüder. Bin sehr beeindruckt und hab voller Respekt für euch, die diesen Film gemacht haben.

WOW ! Ce film est absolument extraordinaire, mille fois meilleur que ceux de Spielberg ou ceux d'Hollywood. Une œuvre extrêmement forte qui m'a laissé sans voix. Danke sehr.
Magnifique ça résume parfaitement l amitié qu'il y avait entre les soldat français Allemand serte il y en avait avec aucune pitié mais il n eitais pas tousse mauvais comme le résume ce court métrage
A very powerful film. Makes you think that despite the madness and violence of the war, these two soldiers from opposite sides of the divide were able to show a brief moment of humanity towards each other.
Extrêmement beau, le choix du muet est très bien, les image et le son en dise suffisamment, pensée aux soldats 14-18. Je ne pense pas qu'autant de patriotisme puisse encore exister aujourd'hui, encore un grand respect 🙏🏼

Ce court métrage m'a mis terriblement mal à l'aise dans le sens où j'ai penser directement à mon arrière grand père et grand oncle qui l'on vécu et survécu et que tellement d'homme bien côté allemand ou français ou autre camp méritait de survivre aussi .
Amazing. An event described (Nothing new a the East-font) and by my own grand-father. So sad. For a war decided by those who never died because of what they initiated.
un super court metrage. rien a dire ça represente très bien l'ambiance horrible qu'etait la guerre et ce en quoi ca representait..des gens simple comme tout le monde qui devait s'affronter et se tuer mutuellement pour leur patrie...je vous conseille vivement le film Joyeux Noel qui est justement dans cette ambiance.
Ein sehr gut gemachter Kurzfilm, da kommt man ins Grübeln. Und wir haben nichts dazu gelernt, es ist wirklich sehr traurig was in der Welt so geschieht.
Combien d'interactions y a t-il eu dans ces tranchées entre les humains qui s'y sont retrouvés? De quoi faire des films pour des siècles.......Amitié, Stéph.
Le titre est choquant. c'est un peu comme si l'on réalisait un film sur un soldat de la guerre d'Algérie portant pour titre le "Bicot", ou un anglais ayant pour projet de tourner long métrage sur les troupes française de la seconde guerre intitulé "The Froggies".
