That piece of music seems so urgent when he nearly opened the door, but gradually slow down when he comes closer to her, almost to a complete stop, like she’s relieved that he’s out of danger.
@bichnguyen6946, do you think Werner can forgive Jeanne for saving him and let his friends die? Werner had the death wish after his fellow officers and his orderly died, he went to the Eastern Front to hasten his own end.
Alpha Draconian ritual sacrifice on mass scale. They collect human misery for food. They are behind all the wars, the government leaders were just puppets.
The lady: how do I tell him not to get into the car without saying anything to him. Ahh, I play a nice piece of music from Bach, which is his favourite to capture his attention stopping him to go, and give him a very intense look. Bravo it works
She was desperately heartbroken to see him go and knew eventually will die in the Russian front. It breaks our hearts to see the love they have could not be enough to keep them together.
It’s a beautiful love story, but war is war. Also,in wars people fall in love with “ the enemy “ especially when the soldiers are there many months or years. BUT ITS WAR AND THEY ARE THERE TO HARM. It happens because love is a human thing❤️❤️❤️
Wonder if she struck up that melody as he left deliberately.....I am moved by this goodbye, yet there are no words. My God she saved his life, because had he not turned back he would have been dead.
I think he was immensely grateful, but he was utterly destroyed by the murder of his two fellow officer friends, as well as the discovery that he had been duped by propaganda. On top of that, living at Jeanne's home is no longer safe, he would have to move. Survivor's guilt likely drove him to request being posted to the Eastern Front, he has lost his will to live.
You are so right about that! Soul rejuvenating! I think meeting your soul mate is one of most common event (nearly everyone has a chance to meet a soulmate at some point in their life), the meeting is like the clashing of thunder bolts, it really tune up a person's vibration/frequency, the love we feel in this times is what the mystics (saints in the past had mystic experiences), near death experiencers have talked about when they cross over----go into the higher dimensions. This is why the Dark entities who run our world have tried so hard to keep our vibe low, by corrupting our morals (keep one's vibe high). Not acting out your emotion for someone is like having a fire (love) in your heart, it brings intense longing, and bliss----the revelation that you find someone you is intensely tuned in to you----soul mate. Werner and Jeanne had it worse because the war around them. Sorry about writing in English, use google translate. I hope I am making sense.
Beautifully said. Thomas Jouannet was the idealized German Aristocratic officer, he has set up a standard sky high. I hope young men today can look back and see what real gentlemen are like. We need a revival for humanity. Werner and Jeanne forever
She saved him from the car bomb, he saved her from being interrogated by the SS. He had Jeanne and the grandfather released before the SS arrived. The grandfather said it could have been a much different questioning with the SS. He was also afraid for her to go back to the headquarters as they might arrest her as well as Marie and her husband. The Captain couldn’t release the boy’s parents as they were involved with the Resistance and responsible for the bomb. All very complicated and dangerous.
Ruby When Jeanne went to the kitchen for a glass of water she saw two dark figures pass the window. She watched them install the bomb under Werner’s car. She ran back upstairs first to her Grandfathers room but didn’t want to involve him. She then went to Werner’s door but couldn’t tell him. If she told Werner she would be committing treason against her own people. She stayed by the kitchen window until morning to know when he was ready to leave. She ran to the piano to play the Bach piece he would recognize, drawing his attention to her.
When listening to the piece she was playing with so much passion he knew more to this piece of music. Especially when she stops after the horn was blown - she looked intensely at him not wanting him to leave that room.
@Chatrani oui tu as raison.
The movie is perfect. Concise. The.silent feelings were well.defined. The war occupation well captured, Resistance as well. This is the best film, I have seen in my life. THE best love Story in Silence, so divine, pure, restraint, kept in the heart. It will be there till eternity.
really? I know she moved her lips, but I didn't notice the details. Thank you 🙏 from Japan .
The movie is Le Silence de La Mer It is on RU-vid in French with English subtitles It was a movie made for French tv in 2004. There is also a version with Russian dubbing that is the original movie not clips.
Her people killed his and his did hers. After the bombing in which she saved his life, he didn’t want to involve in any killings of her people so he voluntarily went to the Russian front to fight against the Russian to show loyalty to his country, which also meant he would certainly perish.
He probably felt he should have died along with his friends. The reason why he didn't die because Jeanne loved this man and realized he was a good man with a good soul that didn't belong in this war. Had they met outside of all this confusion I know they would have loved each other without any reservations.. However, the war makes any relationship difficult due to their difference coming from two different countries.
@@moriahjacobs6131 Probably true!! But, they really could have 'managed' to get around that. It was done. They weren't strong enough. Ahhhhhh, but, it's a movie!!
Yes, the Russian front was a real purgatory for German army because Russians fought for every inch of their country. A'm sure he would write a letter to her trying to continue his monologs.
Merci.
"Island at War" 2004, 60th anniversary of WWII. This year is 2024, new movies? Maybe a sequel with different actors (younger) of Werner and Jeanne reunion? I wonder if anyone can surpass Thomas Jouannet.
On the contrary, two German officers (Werner's friends) and an soldier (Werner's orderly) died in the car bomb. My theory is that Werner left for the Eastern Front partially due to not wanting to carry out the potential order of killing 99 hostages as a punishment of the assassinations of his officer friends. It is simply not shown or discussed in the movie because he left on the same night...but this possibility is implied by the sequence of Grandpa reading the news. Jeanne not only let Werner's friends die, it also led to Werner's abrupt leaving...
