Idea that is currently under consideration is to implement a floating photovoltaic solar power plant in Lietuvos Energijos Gamyba owned Kruonis Pumped Storage Hydroelectric Plant. Floating power plant would cover more than three hundred hectares of Kruonis power plant upper reservoir unused surface. This project would be the first floating solar power plant in the region and would have unique distinguished properties such as adjustment to water level variations, resistance to waves and ice.
