Lea Salonga as a singing voice of Pocahontas! Note it's a live rendition of the song used in this video. Lea sounds her best! Beautiful voice, beautiful song.
Even thru the passage of time. With so many amateurs & professional singers doing their covers of this song. Lea Salonga is still the gold standard. Disney recognizing her as one of their Legendary voices is well-deserved.
She has the voice that can bring a Disney cartoon character into a human form. Her voice possesses a divine heavenly quality that when she sings you just want to be carried and lifted away. It is so soothing that it makes my nerves calm and cures my migraine..hehe..Love you so much Lea.
Lea has been so incredible ever since. I can't believe she's still grounded and so loyal to her nation. This woman is the pride of my country, and no one can deny how amazing her talent is.
I don't know if Pocahontas can sing. Lea Salonga can. It's pure magic when she does. Listening to her sing and watching the movie magically put you back in time.
I NEVER GET TIRED OF HEARING HER VOICE. It's just amazing. and now she's one of the mentors in The Voice of the Philippines :) truly a wonderful singer.
I like Judy Kuhn A LOT. I've seen her twice on Broadway and off. Having said that ... with all due respect, Lea's voice is simply stronger. BOTH are awesome. But, if I had to hear ONE, and only ONE, it would be Lea's.
Judy's voice is more rich and powerful. Young Lea sounds a light and girlish here. Lea today actually sounds more like Judy as voice has gotten warmer and richer with age.
Sorry, but your comment is so ... ignorant, so insipid, I can't just leave it. How old was Lea when she was in Miss Saigon? Do you think they picked her because her voice was "light"????? What the fuck. You're an idiot.
@@trb7153 It's their opinion, calm the fuck down. You're disgustingly rude. Speaking to someone like that because they prefer one singer over another, how childish.
Lea has perfect diction. Lea is proficient in English so NATURAL talaga ang delivery. UNLIKE singers like KYLA na binansagang RNB princess. Si Jaya marunong mag English kaya natural din at di pilit ang pagka SOUL diva. So mahalaga talaga ang diction.
I think how the arranger did a very very good job in here. The portion where it became faster added a little of the mysterious aspect of the song. Perfect!
oh shit this video was uploaded 13 years ago already! the very first I saw this video I think it was 2013, then I thought that Lea also the singing voice of Pocahontas bec of this video then I found later that it was Judy Kuhn mygoodness years goes by so fast & cool post thanks for sharing
i forgot that this was sung live by leah salonga. i was only reminded when i heard the clappings at the end. it sounded like a studio version. she is truly amazing and deserves the title disney legend for being the singing voice of princess jasmine and mulan.
