Nice to see your enthusiast review, totally agree! I backed this game right away, it should arrive this month, looking forward to play it, autumn is the right month to try it out 🙂
Backed this game after really enjoying Canopy and this one doesn't disappoint! I totally agree that this is a gateway game, so ultra-serious gamers might turn up their noses, but it will seriously be their loss (and who wants to play with those folks anyway?!) The Season of the Bear expansion is a must and I think most folks could just use this from the first or second play. This game is an absolute stunner, the turn-your-head, full red dress, high-heeled lady in the Matrix, looker of a game. I have the Kickstarter Deluxe Edition, but I love games that are creative and beautiful and nature-themed, so this was going to be right up my alley. Enjoy everyone!
New to the channel. Nice review! Hope you won't find this too personal but I find your accent (and accents generally) very interesting. I'm guessing a mix of west country and New York/southern Canada?
Welcome aboard!! Ha ha I always get comments on that. I'm from the West Country originally, but I watch a lot of online content/shows that originated from the States so I think some Americanisms have rubbed on me!
Nice review. This one I gave a miss. ThinkerThemer reviewed a prototype a white ago,. I thought it might be a bit fiddly to point the pointy bits together and it might move around too much on the table. I should give it a try. Conopy I finally bought because of your contentsa of it. Love the game. I thought Transmission would be a great gateway game with adorable prettyness. I didn't like the gameplay of Flamecraft. But another option would be Trekking Trough History.
Yes, we had to cancel our Essen booth due to health reasons. Retail release is scheduled for Nov. 4th. We have some pre-orders still available on the Weird City Games website. Those should ship out in late October depending on the region.
Great review Luke! Do you think the deluxe version is worth getting? The KS page states that stretch goals wont be included in the retail version, so presumably that means no solo mode?
Kickstarter deluxe version goes here for $139 AUD, bit too expensive for getaway game. Probably not for me. There are other games within that price range that compete heavily for my money.
Lol who cares what kind of leaf it is it gets you points. This looks like a very cool game that I will get if it comes to retail. The newer gateway games I've been teaching that people like are Azul, Project L, New York Zoo, Canvas, On Tour, Phantom Ink, and Long Shot: the Dice Game.
