The Dominican The movie would be rated higher if it was confined to Chinese audiences. It wouldn't be stellar but this kind of thing is rooted in Chinese culture and mixed with CGI effects. We might find it cheesy but it is more acceptable to Chinese audiences.
Why is this movie not more popular its from 2016 and the CG is amizing in it. This is like top level CG in a Chinese movie... I hope whoever the CG animators were got a lot of recognition, because this one is a standout in Chinese cinematography.
Correction: it is based on a fictionalised account of real historical events. The event in question - the overthrow of the tyrant King Di Xin - is historical (circa 1000 BC). The novel the movie is based on, "Investiture of the Gods", is a fantasy novel written around the 16th century AD.
guys this is no funny movie.... the baby is one very ancient and awesome Chinese Deity straight out of a 12,000 year old Buddhist book called the Ramayana...its also known as Nezha the Third Lotus Prince.... this movie may seem to you as a CGI movie about some comic book or modern book..,..but don't be fulled...this movie tells one of the oldest stories in the world from the Ramayana and Hindu and Chinese Ancient Religions and Folklore... this movie is based in a Chinese Holly book called Fengshen Bang and its but a chapter in the Chinese and Hindi Buddhist religion saga.... written in the year 1,368AD and based in a story from Sheng Dynasty 1,600BC which depicts the story of the ascension of the Gods and one of the Great wars that led to our current Age as detail in the Ramayana a 12,000 year old book detailing stories that go even further into the past to the arrival of the Gods to Earth that is even depicted in the Ancient Ararat and Sumerian Empires (Which gave birth to our modern Judaeo/Christian religion).... this is a very interesting story Guys and very Ancient and interesting to watch if your into history and ancient origin believes.... from this stories comes the ancient common myth of the Fallen Gods that gave Men knowledge shared by almost all ancient religions in the world.

If you look at the history of Chinese movies, they always had a quirky style. I enjoy it myself. I still watch the 1960+ movies. The earlier years, the more quirky in my opinion. A lot of things are under appreciated nowadays.
why so much Dislikes? these movies does not have same budgets what marvel movies have, + it's something different, I really liked it tho and CGI is stylized(whole movie is) I don't think they were going for 100 % realism, and it's somehow appealing IMHO, everything should not fall in one standard
WOW! Just watched the entire movie.... And it's gained itself a spot in my top 10 best movies EVER list! ~ Total action, adventure, fun and peril right out of the shoot. China cinima pulled out all the stops on this one, for sure! MUST SEE! 11/10 stars!
guys please!!! this is Chinese Culture... this movie just like Lord of the rings is based on a novel that tells a lot of stories of China's mythology mashed together just like LOTR told the story of Western mythology smashed together... big difference is that this story is really old from 1368AD called Fengshen Bang and the story it tells dates back to historic documents, legends and mythology dating as far back to 1600BC and those stories even date back longer in history.... in short this is an Epic movie of Chinese mythological you could even argue Religious history...like a chapter of their Bible.
Even though this movie isn't good for other viewers, I wouldn't mind to watch this movie. It may look weird but it is a fantasy movie so I'll give it a chance to watch this when it comes out. Just my opinion :)
Not trying to put this down, but while I was watching it I kept thinking it was a demo reel for a old graphics card. you know, those random but really beautiful videos, (stopped doing a few years ago), that they showed to sell the cards potential. I had to keep reminding myself that it is a movie trailer.
The cgi baby was the only thing that was wack everything else seemed fun , it's clearly a CGI visually stunning movie , China r on the same level with CGI as Hollywood r now it seems

He is not a baby, he was born a little boy after his mum pregnant with him for long time. if it seem confuse to you, you can read his background story. name is Ne Zha. he was eventually made a diety in chinese folklore.
Why is it that special effects in all but Hollywood movies just look to crappy??this just looks ridiculous and I love jet li,i actually feel ashamed of watching this
