Watching an Udyr soloing the most broken 200 year new champs duo Samira-Rell, must be one of the most cathartic feelings this game has given to me in the last decade.
i kinda want to see this honestly. like a 1 hp champ that that needs to be on a death timer for the nexus to fall. it would make interesting game of protect the president

yeah except it takes skill to play yasuo and with udyr you press E and get actual 600 in combat movespeed run in stun a carry and pheonix stance anything else in range also while building full tank/speed just to be a annoying prick that is unkillable if you're not a adc... oh wait the adc is no more because he half healthed them... its just flat out abuse and its fucking vile

I wished I had gotten to play him at that time. He was my first champion in 2013, I played him a lot even if he wasn't that good, then around the time he became good i stopped playing league. Now just recently I'm back to lol just to find out he is another champion completely :(
I used to play him 'support' with my brother who played kalista and we would just wreck bot lane. And this reminds me whenever teambuilder was a thing. I also miss that. Guaranteed a role and champ.
They buffed Udyr 30 times around the items we had, then they basically changed the whole item pool and didn't revert Udyr. Balance team is incredibly drunk sometimes.
This is a problem that will keep coming up with the item rework... but I think it's still interesting regardless of all those buffs that he can exist in pro play when it's not like Olaf or Lillia or Nidalee or Graves are weak either. We're just not used to seeing Udyr have a 40% presence in pro haha
aatrox was also like this and when he was strong they almost killed him more than he is dead also amumu is another example the little guy broke the game with just a sunfire aegis
imo BOTRK should be a mythic item. It's such a strong item that people can build it first and beat people who have a mythic item, which is supposed to be stronger.
I was reminded of the quote from Nikkyboy "Udyr is the Aquaman of league, he's a joke of a character" But we a lot of knows Aquaman became a badass over time
@@JDReC100 martian manhunter is basically better superman, having basically the same skill set with telekinesis, shape shifting and all that kinda stuff added, lobo can duke it out with him, aquaman is on equal playing field, wonder woman and any 4th or higher dimensional characters can (reality warpers, divine characters, white lanterns, etc)

@@mindcheckingoutmynewsong8275 Udyr was completely fucking broken and was considerably more cancer than the champs you listed because he has no fucking counterplay. Udyr farmed jungle (the role with the most available gold) the fastest and thus had the most gold meaning he had the bigger stat stick. Due to the nature of his kit he always wins against champs with less stats than him, and since he again farmed the faster he would ensure that he always had more stats. Even in super late game where he should get kited out, he can just ignore everyone and sprint to the main carry, stun them, let his team oneshot them, and then run out alive. A champ with a kit this binary and linear, that offers 1 P&C cc to the team has no place being a FP in pro play, but he was because he was completely fucking broken. Legit every pro thought he was turbo broken, but armchair analysts and silver challengers still claim he was not broken; I wonder who was right?

Small correction - towards the end of the video I said in the audio that his rework is coming this year, but riot confirmed in the article it will be early 2022. What do you want to see in his eventual rework?
Maybe get some additional stances? Or stance mixing? As in, you activate 2 stances and you get a buff from the combination? Kinda like Invoker from Dota 2 Oh, and some Truck2g lines in his voiceover
A champion who run at you and stat check you to death. Kinda like everyone who just run at you. I hope for an actual passive, maybe a q-spell who combine his r and q spell (giving him attack speed and aoe) and probably an actual ultimate, who could reset his stance (and transform it into a superstance, giving him extra things). I hope for some tenacity somewhere, maybe on w, kinda like Garen, giving him a little bit of depth. And i wish, with all my heart, that he will not be transformed like Aatrox. I won't survive if another of my champions dies.
i think stances for basic ability and an ultimate of some sorts would be nicer also maybe they remove tiger stance and make him an all ap champion or remove phoenix and make him all ad cuz it's just awkward having both
I miss actuall reworks tbh. They rework champs now but its like they were not reworked at all. Mundo and Udyr especially still have all the strengths and weaknesses of the prerework
I feel like on of the things people forget about is that (for the most part) champions that are overpowered tend to just have WAY too high numbers. sometimes, it's not really the fact that they have 12 weapons, 8 abilities per weapons, 2 passives per ability, each with different effects, it's just that, well, they can one shot you with an auto attack.

The problem isn't that Usyr is strong. It's that he has no counter play. If he can get to you you are stunned and dead. If he cant get to you he is useless. Good that he is beeing reworked.
I agree. Udyr is still not strong. These videos that pros or high elo players show a good performance caused by the general team play that allows Udyr to catch someone. In mid to low elo Udyr still can't compete with champs that dash, leap, teleport, break the space-time dimension, etc... In reality, you just run for a gank and just one cc or one escape dash from the enemy kills your gank.
If anything Udyr only has counterplay, u land a single CC and he can't catch you, it's all about whether or not he can dodge (not so surprisingly, with one billion MS he can) The real issue is how a stat check champ should deal with an other stat check champ.

One thing I've noticed when a champ is considered op is that it has literally nothing to do with the champs abilities. It's just the math or items are fucked and that results in nonsense
Hey bro , I just discovered you this week and I am watching your videos nonstop. I have been playing lol since season 1, I even remember when my video club would sell a physical copy of the game. I have played for more than 6 years and at some point I reached diamond 4 in the age of the diamond 5 elo hell (win 5 lp-lose 20lp ) and realised that in order to get higher i would have to trade my life so i stopped. I just want to say that watching your videos is remembering parts of my history and I am very grateful . I really watch every video and I remember the patches and me talking about them with my friends, being excited about the buffs and the nerfs , watching pro matches , playing the champions and whatnot . I love you for your content bro...seriously keep up the good work.
Riot Games is going to make the same mistake that they made with the Aatrox rework, removing him right when he becomes popular and releasing a champion where the only similarity is their name.
Both Udyr and old Aatrox are so outdated that they cannot be balanced together with other champions. They are not popular because they are fun to play, but because they are just stat-checkers who obliterate the competition. They are quit similar to Sona also. When you start seeing her in pro-play, she is probably broken and has to do nothing but spam abilities to outclass any other support.
@@GameBreaker1055 To be honest, the biggest problem split pushers have always had, is fitting into a team comp where they can be useful in teamfights. Any champ that's only good at splitting, is going to be unbalanced doing what they do best. Aatrox was actually a decent champ to kill your laner and stomp the early game, then snowball out of control and force enemy jgl to camp top or lose inhib tower, but that was all he could do. Tbh Aatrox was never popular, he was meta once because of balancing, but never popular.
@@Exil22 and a big chunk of his sudden spike of power could also be attributed to items, the then version of Rageblade in particular (plus people taking long as usual to piece his state together, that he'd solely been buffed ~5 times in a row, etc)
I can remember when I started playing this game on season 1. The fact that there was no meta, I was new to mobas and that I was like 12 years old made me buy what I needed this way. Am I too squishy? I'll get a warmog. Do I want to hit harder? Let's go with Bloodthirster (It could get you 100 AD back in the day). There was not much to choose from anyway but the I kinda miss this simplicity

Im an udyr main and i dont want him to be reworked. Theyre gonna ruin him, theyre gonna aatrox him, and im convinced his buffs were intentional as an excuse to rework him when hes op
Isn't that what happened to aatrox as well? For the first time the old aatrox was viable and he got the highest pick/ban rate in competitive scene ever just to be reworked a few months after.

Its funny how the world goes round the moment that riot traps then in “we are going to fix this” is when it fixes itself. Sometime you don’t need to change the characters sometimes you just need to let things around them get in their favor. Enter aatrox and now our ps2 bear man
But neither the healing nor the shielding was as broken to be honest. It was the onhit damage that really made it that strong. In terms of healing+shielding it wasn't nearly as bad as goredrinker+steraks. Still a clusterfuck of a meta though.

As a Jungle main main who got back into the game thanks almost explicitly due to Trick2g showing how crazy Udyr could be back in S4, I love that you got to make a video on Udyr before he inevitably ends up getting a rework that basically deletes him like the Aatrox rework. It warms the soul to see a champion who's entire gig is just running up to people beat all these broken ass champs with a billion dashes and resets and passives that are basically essays. Lol at that Romanian league. The LS team's top laner is Lelouch and their support's name is literally Antagonist. We need a series covering this league ASAP.
This season just feels like riot went with the “everything is broken so it’s balanced” approach. Everyone needs a dash now, or a shield, or burst. It’s just so frustrating trying to play now
I dont get who though it was a good idea to just give the champs more important things after creating champs that dont have everything for years, kinda obvious that is cant be belanced. Imagine Rengar needs to be seen whenever he uses his ult and shaco can just go completely invisible for an hour with a 5 sec cd.

I remember starting league, at the verrrry tail end of season 5 I mained Udyr, and I got better as he got worse until eventually I skipped not long after the Evelynn rework. I'm finally going to get to relive the dream with my boy and I couldn't be happier.

Funfact, the udyr player from the romanian league is an udyr main, currently 2 euw challanger accounts and this guy is probably the best udy worldwide, he runs ghost instead of flash on almost all champions and he also plays with conq always and never phaserush
I'm a little sad to see him get reworked but also Im excited, they did a great job with Volibear thematically and gameplay wise and he was such a favorite of mine prior to the rework. As long as he is still a raidboss I'm totally okay with it.
As an aphelios main back in s10 after the nerf massarce when the buffs for him came out in patch 10.21 he acutally felt like 200 years again but now in s11 with the new items i wish hes atleast quarter a year

Honestly the thing that upsets me the most is the lack of build diversity for some champs. Akali for example, is basically forced into a single mythic option if you want any sort of healing because the only vamp you can get for any ap item is a mythic that honestly doesn’t seem that good for an ap assasin
I'm an Udyr main since 2014 and I've always loved playing him, no matter what. The desperation in the enemies' movement and skill use, the thought of them screaming in agony of a man bear running into them to bear slap the soul out of them is unmeasurable! The ZZ rot + Banner meta was by far the most stupid way to play the game ever, and I abused it like crazy! I hope Rito doesn't trash all the feelings Udyr provides, otherwise I'll be very sad...
Your videos are like movies. I get food and just sit back and chill while watching them. High quality production helps that too. On of the better channels in the league comunity.
The Udyr situation just shows us how stupid the game has become. First, it started with champions that have everything needed to carry and yet be immortal due to how op those tools are (samira being the best example). Then the new item rework came in and made Udyr, the worst champion in the game, the best champion in the game BY FAR. If this doesn't showyou how stupid this game is then I am sorry mate but you are out of your mind
Forgot to mention other things as well, one of them being Riven, my main. Before this season even if you were behind the enemy in exp and gold, you could still come back pretty easily, now it is almost impossible, BUT, now, when you are ahead of the enemy with Riven, you become an impossible to kill assasin through your sustain, shields and infinite dashes. This is just insane
As an udyr main since season 1, this video makes me both delightful of his current state (minus the banrate) and sad of the incoming rework which is probably going to make my braindead statcheck champ a bit more "difficult":(
To me this is the cho gath situation. I don't understand how an item that gives almost the exact same stats as before the reworks with some added utility can make niche champions become broken
