Did you hear the story why Tom Cruise first got into Scientology? He used to be dyslexic and couldn't read scripts. His wife at the time, Mimi Rogers, introduced him to a class which helps the reader with a method to overcome dyslexia, run by the Church of Scientology. As a result, Tom was now able to read scripts, so he feels loyal to Scientology for his career.

Finally! She said it right. I really don't understand why people say Scientology is the religion of Celebrities, if most actors are not, and most 'celebrities' in Scientology are B or C list actors, or people like Tom Cruise or John Travolta who saw their prime a long time ago. Actually, most famous Scientologists are famous now because they are in Scientology and the press mentions them all the time. So, I guess it does work for fame purposes, because if you are an actor and a Scientologist, the press will keep talking about you even if you are not relevant anymore.

People need to recognise the difference between _psychology_ and _psychiatry._ Psychology is psychoanalysis and talk therapy, it attempts to help people by addressing their dysfunctional thought processes with various methods. However, psychiatry deals with theories about brain chemistry and drug treatment; here the problem is considered to be a biological defect. Psychology can certainly be criticised for sometimes absorbing questionable ideologies and even anti-scientific theories, such as gender being a social construct, but at least it is fundamentally a voluntary practice of talking. Psychiatry messes with the engineering of the brain, beyond the control of the patient, and can induce episodes that would not normally happen. While I don't support Scientology there is much to be concerned about regarding psychiatric drugs, specifically the ever growing demographic that are permanently reliant upon them. At what point do we say that it is the environment and society that are unhealthy and not the brains of millions of people? Why have so many people in the past century suddenly developed supposed brain chemistry imbalances? I think the attraction for some to Scientology is that there is facts mixed in with plausible lies, science mixed in with fiction.

It's The power, it doesn't matter what system it is when your at the top looking down on everyone. The view is great...
