Useful DIY idea: sealing in a PP/PE film with the use of soldering iron. How to weld fine plastic films leakless to make impermeable to air/gas/water packages. An extremely simple method to receive perfectly tight sutures. Useful for anti-oxidation and water-proof packing. Simple and easy to DIY welding hand tool, made of a 12V-soldering-iron and 2-mm copper wire. Compilation of examples of the use: water-proof PP bale for a small electronic part, anti-oxidation packing of coins, bank-note safe enclosure, iron parts survival packing. I'm impressed i was able to find something so similar to what i have in mind, i wanna try this with much thicker vinyl and very irregular shapes, i hope it works.

Can you cut the corner off of one of the packages and blow air into it without it leaking or deflating? This looks like it'd be a great method for making solar hot air balloon envelopes (with plastic painters drop cloth). Thanks for the tip.

I saw your other video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Lbivts6Vg3c.html. Both are quite informative. Given that you made this video after the toothed wheel one, can you let me know which one is the preferred method for you? Would this method help seal/weld 300 micron pp sheets?

2:57 i would test 1or 2 layer of aluminium foil on top of the plastic which might prevent the tearmarks also you could file the copperwire wall to a better shape like oval or flat which might have better results.

To prevent tears I've just contrived the wooden press-device, since tears arise due to excessive up-tension at welding wire-tip contact point. As for shape of tip... it's a topic for experiments. At first I've made a roller of a brass coin, but it didn't roll... wiped, so it appears the copper wire is simpler and better - it welds 100% robust and sealed.
