Um I'm watching it alright. One guy collar dragged the other one right into full mounting himself lol. Then the other one gets a triangle with zero angle on it, cant seal the sub and tries to cut an angle but goes to the wrong side lol.
I like both athletes, Leandro Lo is a legend. However, once again IBJJF whenever anything is even close always chooses against Keenan. The fact he still enters IBJJF tournaments shows he has more resilience than "they" (IBJJF) have the class to recognize his game. Honestly, the IBJJF is slowly forming Keenan into a folk hero / cult following amongst American Jiu Jitsu fans that see it for what it is and love Keenan even more.
Leandro playing a real stalling game, mastered the IBJJF system by standing next to the line so he can't be taken down and has plenty of space to take others down... really not fun to watch. Keenan had to come forward the entire time and still lost the decision, pretty disappointing to see this behaviour encouraged.
100% perfect analysis. Such bullshit. Fuck the IBJJF, there are way better organizations out there. I don’t know why Cannon continues to give them publicity by participating in their tournaments
@Kind Citizen Leandro is beast, but Lo didnt pass, and lo is a god of passing, no reason to bash its plain and simple idk if youre from brasil but i am, and i know how this shit goes. we love 5050 in the motherlands lmaoooooooooo cmon
Another example of Brazilian favoritism by the refs. Lo was clearly playing the edges the entire standup. Keenan was the clear aggressor pressing the action and looking for the score the entire match.
Lo’s little celebration at the end was pretty lame. He never threatened Keenan once the entire match. I don’t even understand how Keenan lost actually.
Alex W According to the rules, he lost only because he ended the fight on the bottom. That.is.it - which is totally lame. Lo knew it and was simply waiting to finish the fight in the top.
Keenans ribs obviously still not healed yet. Anyway I dont understand why Lo should get the win here. He was definitely the less aggressive one in this match imo. Anyone can explain?
@@FraldinhoBJJ You and all guys here, are Tiered to see Keenan win fights per one vantage, So go fuck your self . LO is better than keenan and is been proving all these years , hard tô swollow but is the pure true
At 3:11 you see Keenan's "Platinum Worm Passing", that grip is very tricky and works well, It stopped LO's transition to an x guard with the pants grip and also stopped his sit up guard sweeps.
Lo should have been given a penalty for fighting at the edge, smart for shooting when they pull back in but to do so repeatedly looks more like he’s running rather than engaging
Blue belt here watching this and thinking . . .is this what I have to look forward to? Doesn't look fun, and matches like this will turn people off to the sport. More penalties for stalling.
the one time where lo actually engaged keenan (first matchup) keenan defiled him with his worm guard and lo has had PTSD since lol... you can really tell in this match
Clearly Leandro played the edge of the mat and disengaged a majority of the time during their standup exchanges, arguably he also did almost get a takedown although out of bounds, and Keenan threatened a sweep at the end, I felt that Keenan was the aggressor and in the guard made more attempt to sweep than when Leandro was playing guard, so pretty even match but again the backing up and playing the edge was imo a reason to give the match to Keenan, but hey I’m a fan of both these guys and they each played to the best of their ability so congrats to the winner
Leandro was much more active IMO - had a heel pick sweep attempt from guard early, then the takedown attempt that was very close to finishing from standing - keenan had 1 real sweep attempt from guard right at the end, but other than that, nothing. Keenan plays such a stall style, it can be really frustrating and boring to watch, especially when someone has a guard game like LL and can counter his Worm.
The match behind them. Is that real life? Brown belts? One guy collar dragged the other guy right into mounting him. Then the other one gets an triangle and has difficulty finishing and tries to cut an angle THE WRONG WAY......
marsnall the three refs signify a semifinal or finals match. let’s say it’s their 4th fight and the constant grip breaking, takedown attempts, and defending will do that to you. lo also likes to make it seem like he’s tired when he’s really not
@@MrTiaze one where an American outworked a Brazilian. But because Brazilians don't respect Keenan because of his worm guard, he gets the shit end of the stick.
Lo's balance is something to be recognized... I mean, he knows how to use the ruleset... Is really hard to get an score on Lo, and he can easily scores on you... Most of his matches he wins by points or advantage, don't really remember a lot of matches that he gets the sub .... The truth is points, advantage, really don't matter... the moment he gets an advantage he'll stall on you, run of bounds, make everything that is possible to make the time run past and the opponet won't be able to fight... You can easily recognize that he plays by the rules... I think he uses the IBJJF ruleset better than anyone... an formidable competitor.
Yea watching the background fight ..how did that guy escape that triangel .the guy was trying to stop him posturing up by grabbing his leg..if I get you in a triangle your gonski
When you refuse to engage and pull back constantly, you don't deserve a ref's decision. Keenan sprawled on the single leg attempts. The one attempt he did get taken down, they were practically on the other mat. Lo wasn't engaging at all during the match, and THAT is why Keenan couldn't sweep him.
Mike Chaves entendo o ponto de vista, mas não acho como a melhor justificativa. Acho q nessa luta em específico, ambos lutaram com medo. E o medo tira a vontade de vencer.
I am just a novice and am not qualified to critique these top level fighters, but I don't see why only Lo seems to be getting all the negative comments here. Keenan was holding Leandro's lapel for the second half of the fight, which I suppose is good defence, but this seemed to nullify Leandro's attempts to attack. I think I get what Buchecha means when he talks about Roots v Nutella.
Keenan should have won this. You see at 5:58 the center ref gives Lo a penalty for stalling but the corner ref retracts it for some reason. Lo deserved that penalty and then the match would have ended in a draw but Lo would have had 2 penalties to Keenan's 1. Explain why that penalty was retracted by corner ref after Lo did nothing but stall for 30 seconds straight with no sweep attempt.
Brazilian refs will always show favoritism towards a Brazilian athlete and give them the W 9 times out of 10. Its really exhausting and makes you not want to compete in their tournaments. Theyre also pretty butt hurt about an American destroying their top athletes especially when its Kenan or Gordon. I think people are realizing this and hopefully we get some better tournaments without biased judging in the future.
Keenan made same mistake in there first fight ...why not just hold ground in middle of the mat and force lo forward ..be much clearer to ref he is disengaging ..u chance u play his game !
In what deranged parallel universe is that considered a win for Lo? Brutal call. Guy just stalled. Keenan is the only one who tried to attack. I call bias Brazilian bullshit on this.
I thought about this as well. Keenan talks about wanting to build a system that you would ONLY need to rely on. If anything, I think the moment he perfects the lapel, people will be learning how to transition from lapel to other techniques, much like how we transition open guards.
I’ve been training Jiu Jitsu for a long time now and the fact that we still have this shitty rule set is a joke and it’s training many BJJ competitors to be a joke.
