i needed this for my intermediate group test, i started learning this today and i actually got it in two hours!! i’m mostly training without a coach so i can’t really do anything serious on my own. Of course i don’t have speed and i’m not 100% confident yet, but i can do it!!! Thank you so much you’re amazing
Thank you so much for these two videos on cross rolls!! I really love the cross rolls in Yuzuru Hanyu’s SEIMEI, and have often practiced forward cross rolls on my own. Seeing the techniques being explained so clearly is super helpful❤ Hopefully I will be able to practice backward cross rolls after getting better at backward edges!
Tysm! I’ve been figure skating since the beginning of this year (im a teenager) and have been working on crossovers/cross strokes. These have helped really well for me!
Oof I can barely do that step in bare feet on my living room carpet, I may not try it on the ice just yet! 😅 But will definitely come back to it one day when I've got stronger core and edges, I do love all the crossovers/crossrolls etc and this is such a pretty one.
I thought the same, but coach told me just do your steps near the barrier , and I did, bow after one year I do it on the ice, though need more practice to do better,) thanks to such videos it is much easier 👍🙆♀️
I’m so early and yesterday i landed my Waltz jump it was my first try on Ice, i got help, i held my skating buddy hands and I landed it but the next try I fell😭
So exciting that you landed one! Skating is a roller coaster, we have so many highs and lows, sometimes back to back. But if you can stick with it you will develop resilience and fortitude.
Perfect. I need to practice for my adult silver MITF. I have a question: What are the three freestyle moves test exactly. I have done adult pre bronze, I am testing my bronze, but I have done the program for those yet. How does that go? As always, this is great. Thank ❤️ you.
hi julia! i love you’re videos but i do have a question. do you think it’s too late to start like really learning ice skating at the age of 15? cuz i really wanna start but i’m not sure if it’s too late :)
How do you call backward inside cross rolls? These are harder for me than backward outside cross rolls, I have looked for tutorials in RU-vid for this element, but I have not found them. Although I have seen them in competitions. I found them in Russian (as Estonia was forced to be part of Soviet Union I still remember some Russian and can understand this language a bit) but I have no idea how to call these in English. Here in Estonia we call them backward inside cross rolls. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Uhd2ez2Cyls.html
Hockey players call those backwards scissor skate, search Google and you’ll find P K Subban demonstrating them in hockey kit. I find them much easier than backwards cross rolls. The secret is to move the right foot far to the left before placing itvon the ice and vice versa. Use outside edges, not inside.
