Love your work. I used to speak cantonese when i was younger with my grand parents and parents but as grew older, I did not pratice enough so I end up forgetting a lot. Your videos is great way to practice at my own pace :)

I am learning Cantonese so that my Fiancé can speak comfortably my Fiancé has perfect English as well, but sometimes my Fiancé wants to speak in Canto, which I support! Some people think finding a spouse who speaks in another language will be annoying.I think it is a good chance to learn a new language. Learning partner's mother tongue will know more his/her culture through language. I am glad that you work hard for it~🍻 There is another 8 hours one which is intermediate. Maybe the structure of a sentence. I know that it is a subject-verb-object language but struggle with to build a sentence correct.

Excellent presentation and pace, but the soundtrack is very distracting. Tonal languages are like music, so you have two pieces of music playing at the same time! (I speak conversational Mandarin.)

Hello, i am glad that you bring this up. maybe some of words that you learned from other videos are formal words and phrases. What's more, there are more than one ways for some sentences. I list those we usually use and in conversational way.

@@Kuasarakyat2 yes tin1 faa1 is smallpox. that's how we called smallpox in the past when it killed people. but now tin1 faa1 has disappeared. Now there are only measles and chickenpox.

it is different. In Cantonese, we dont have sounds like zh ch sh. So when we speak Mandarin, it is difficult to pronounce "z vs zh "etc. but z in cantonese is like "j"in mandarin

Traditional and simplified Chinese are not about the language but the characters.Some characters are too difficult to write and to recognize. So we simplified some characters. It results that some characters have two forms-simplified and traditional. Lots of characters like 又日少 etc, are easy to write and can't be simplified any more.
