This channel has pretty quickly become my favorite RU-vid, and by obvious extension, ASMR channel. You’re very good at explaining ideas as well as keeping the video relaxing. I cannot explain how much easier it is to internalize information when it’s presented in such a calm and slower paced manner. Always looking forward to your videos, and constantly going back to watching old videos again and again and again. Thank you so much for your content, it’s very much appreciated!
I play ASMRchess videos almost every day (either at work or at bedtime). I knew nothing about chess before these videos and just recently decided to learn the game. Hopefully the strategies in these videos are retained during my sleep😅
I got a chess set tonight for Christmas from my brother, it was the sweetest thing. He knows I’ve been getting passionate about it and it’s wonderful to finally have one at home.. I spent the rest of the evening studying this and it made this Christmas so special. Thank you
Thank you for introducing me to chess. I find myself playing now more and more. I would really like to learn your opinion on this famous quote of Paul Morphy. "The ability to play chess is the sign of a gentleman. The ability to play chess well is the sign of a wasted life."
I would love to see the history of chess. Mainly the differences in time periods of how people played chess and the theory and strategies and how they evolved throughout time
Taking part in my first ever tournament for my university, all be it a friendly one, on Saturday so im glad youre giving me the opportunity to freshen up on strats
Yay! Since your last video I went up 100 in rating (even though I primarily slept through the first couple of watches). I learn so much from you! Now I plan to climb even more! Thank you for making these!
at 18:39 its actually a lot better to capture the pawn on c6 instead pf the knight because that triple forks the knight, the rook and the king (winning the rook after forced Qd7) and picks up a bonus pawn
I really like that you don’t cut out the bloopers (e.g when you knocked over the pawn and did the wrong moves for the Budapest Gambit). They do make me laugh and add to the enjoyment of the video 😂
Love this so much! One unsolicited idea suggestion I have for you, is to do an alternate cut with the Purling London board for certain impactful moves (if you feel like it), as I've seen comments that loved the sound of that chess set. I prefer the wooden set as I grew up with one almost identical to yours, but a few random cuts with the other ceramic set could add a lot of flavor and get the best of both worlds. Amazing content! Happy to be a patreon supporter and so glad you are gaining more well deserved recognition. You will reach 1 million!
Only a few weeks ago I was basically bewildered by how chess games actually work. I had a base knowledge of how each piece can move but no idea how to play. Your channel has taught me so much and provided a new stress relieving enjoyable hobby. Thank you so much for the care and thought you put into your channel, it has significantly improved my everyday 🙏🏻👍🏻💝
I love the tutorials. I'm glad they are on the wooden set because It's easier to comprehend, but I love the sounds of the Purling London set. I would love for that to make a return sometime soon.
Favorite Chess content by far! Not only does it help me sleep, but also I’m learning more about chess! I would really love it if you made a video of the Polish Opening and the Black Lion, since those are my favorite openings since they are wacky and fun! Also love the immortal games and famous games from history! I’m a huge Fischer fan and also a Philidor fan. But one most people don’t know is Alexey Sokolsky. Either way man, great job and I can’t get enough!!!
You're one of my favourite asmr-tists (or should I say a-chess-mr?). I kind of expected to see the Albin's countergambit at the end (1.d4 d5 2.c4 e5 ), I run into it a lot more often than the budapest gambit. But really nice video, thank you!!
LMAO i cracked up when you said "the damage is done so i guess i be leaving" in a soft whisper voice. I've watched your other queen gambit videos but I'd forgotten about that hilarious line and song lyric!
I’m going to the nacional tournament in Puerto Rico student category this is very helpful I’ve been playing queens gambit for about three years.the date of the tournament is October 9
The queen's gambit is also my favorite and best opening so my tip is for people wanting to learn it is: know the ragozin, modern and semi Tarrasch variations as they're very common responses. I recommend going for the solid lines rather than the aggressive and tactical lines to build confidence and fundamental knowledge of the opening. Also knowing the catalan system can be useful against 1. D4 Nf6
I will always thank you for all this amazing content. I promise once I am for financially stable I’ll definitely support you Thank you for being a great teacher!
Hello man ! I love your channel, you're such a genius in the way you relax and teach us at the same time ! Also, you're whispering voice is as incredible as your soft spoken one, could you please make more whispering videos, with some rain sounds ... it would be amazing ! Kiss from France
1:00 The word is "sgambetto", while gambit means "azzardo" which translates in "something risky" like going blindly all in poker or in this case, putting a pawn in a risky way.
At 18:40, isn’t it better to capture the pawn first, then when the queen blocks the check, you capture the rook and when the queen blocks the check again you go back to c6 and then capture the knight? Qxc6+ Qd7 Qxa8+ Qd8 Qc6+ Qd7 Qxa6
If I drop up on over like that it doesn't sound nice, high pitched and solid like that. It just sounds like Walmart. Anyway thank you for putting two of my favorite things in life together. Chess and ASMR! It's like you added waffles to ice cream and invented the ice cream cone or something
Love your channel. Watched this video 3 times already. If you have time in the follow up video then I would love to see a response to the Albin Counter gambit... I have encountered it quite a few times and gets me in difficult positions.
Love how easily you explain everything and was just wondering if you could do a video about how to play against the alban counter gambit. Come across it a lot and tend to have trouble with it.
Thank you! I am working on a video on How to play the Albin countergambit. That should give you some insight into what black is trying to do and how you can avoid it.
hey, thanks for the video. However you didn't explain one variation in the accepted gambit where the black pawn on c4 is defended by Be6. They play it a lot and I can't figure out how that's a mistake. Do you (or someone else) have any thoughts on that? Thanks and regards
@ASMR Chess Hello!! Truly loving your videos. I am learning so much from them. I have a move that black plays and that I have been noticing with white while playing the Queen's Gambit: when I play d4, they play d5, then c4, and then they play queen d3. I think it is a bad move but I had a lot of trouble dealing with it because they always had some tricks that won them material. Do you think you can cover this move in your part 2? Thank you so much!! Keep up the good work :)
I love the Hopton with white, it's the only thing I play against the dutch and it scores me incredibly well, not including all the 6. Qh5#'s you showed, that I have against 2,000 rated players!
Only one thing can ruin my relaxation from this video, and that's dropping my phone and having it poke me in the eye 😢 I figured others could relate to that, trying to watch asmr in bed has its hazards...
I’ve been playing this queens gambit system for a few days with great success in 5 minute online blitz. My question would be regarding which attacking patterns can be employed for aggressive movements towards the castled black king. I’ve found great success so far with shoving protected white square bishops onto the H7 pawns. Would this be the main line? Thanks Asmrchess!!
