These videos aren't actually intended for Americans, since the topics and lessons they teach in EnglishClass101 are what a usual American speak. So, if a person who have learned English already but wants to improve on it, then this is the place for him/her. Just like me. I'm a Filipino. In the Philippines, we have 2 languages: Filipino and English. And only a little of our population can speak good English. This lesson're helpful. As to answer your question, it intends to improve your English.

I came from a very small place called mosquito junction, in manitowoc county Wisconsin, USA. We had no schools, churches, gas stations, or bars. But they did blacktop the road around 1990 and we do wear shoes

Alisha, I'm from India and I teach spoken English in Chennai. Chennai is a city and the capital of Tamil Nadu. In India too people often answer, "I'm from North India" or "I'm from the south".

very good video I must say. i was wondering, for those of us who did not have English as our first language do you think that the United States accent is easier to pronounce or the accent used in Great Britain? Also, do you have a video where it explains the English letters and the sounds?

The ease depends really on the person and their native language. If it is closely related to American English it might be easier for them to choose that sound. I would say that American Accent is more diverse soundwise. British for instance, is an easy accent to imitate. Vowels sounds seem to be clearly separated from one another. ( boss - bus ) Not so in American English where "bus-boss" can sound awfully alike.
