Thank you for posting videos like these. I decided to go back to school this year to pursue an associates degree in Business. One of the things that stopped me in the past was the writing part of taking classes. English is not my first language and it’s difficult to sit down and start writing. Fortunately, there are lessons I can take before I start my actual career that will help me improve my writing and gain confidence. The way you explained these transitions has been pretty helpful. "Although the exam was difficult, I think I did good":is a fact "Even though the exam was difficult, I did good" is an assumption the difference between Although and Even though is very clearly explained in the video [2:33]

Hi Adam, I really like your video, I was teaching this yesterday and struggled a little so this has given me a fresh take on it. One thing that I have not been able to find in any of these videos and I always get asked by my students is: Why can't we put the connecting word on the opposite clause? For example: Even though the train was late, I arrived on time. They want to know why they can't say: The train was late, even though I arrived on time. I have a bit of a problem explaining this to them. What I usually say is; The surprising information needs to have the connecter, but they find it hard to grasp. Do you have any tips?
