I've started learning some Finnish words(30-60) and I'm finally starting on grammar today, thank you for these very clear videos! They make it easier. So far I've found it difficult to remember words in Finnish, idk if it's because I'm not familiar with the language yet and because Finnish words are so different from the other languages I have knowledge of(Russian native, English and German + working through French) but I've been trying to learn Finnish words for a month now and I still have no idea with 50 out of those 60 words I tried to learn and another 5 I just guess and get right when I'm lucky, they just don't seem to stick when with other languages like German I'm able to learn 40 words a day no problem
I have been looking here and there just to find a way to learn Finnish, gladly I found your channel, thank you for all your great work, send you my good vibes ❤
Im brazillian and its nice to see some similarities in the pronounce between finnish and portuguese. Some words, like "muita" exists in portuguese with the same pronounce, but have other meaning
Thanks for the great videos! Is there a difference between the two ways to ask "how are you" and say "nice to meet you"? Can you recommend a good online dictionary?
For the hello words in Finnish, I think ”terve” and ”hei” are more formal than ”moi” which is a very casual way of saying hello. There are other informl ways of saying hello as well, which are not listed here such as ”moro” and ”moikka” - which can also be used to say bye. For saying bye, a common way is also to repeat the hello word twice: so ”hei hei” or ”moi moi” are ways to say bye.
Thank you for the great video , May I ask can we get the script , For new beginner , it's not easy to keyin the words, If we can get the script , It's more better, Thank you
Hi Anna. Your videos are helpful and I feel lucky to encounter with your excellent videos. Therefore, I would like to ask for your permission for me to share your videos on websites in China. As you may know, RU-vid is blocked in China. And I could hardly find Finnish learning resources that I like on Chinese websites. Please let me have your idea. Thank you very much!
1. Hi/hello = Moi/hei/terve Bye/bye bye = Moikka/heippa (informal) See you = Nähdään 2. Good morning - Hyvää huomenta Good evening - Hyvää iltaa Good night - Hyvää yötä/öitä 3. How are you - mikä kuuluu / Miten menee Fine, thanks - kiitos, Hyvää/ Hyvää, kiitos. Nice to meet you - kiva tavata / hauska tutustua.
