Set aside at least 3 practice sessions a week for like an hour or two if you're up to it, and I guarantee in a few weeks you will not only melt your old ladies heart, but blow her mind too, along with everyone else in ear shot! Keep playing, bro! 👍

No...it's not spot on. I've been playing this song for years and he's messing up in a bunch of spots. The beginning guitar is actually 2 guitars and he's trying to do a mash-up of both. Plus, it's played on a 12 string acoustic. Thumbs down.

This song is actually one of the reasons why I wanted to learn guitar. I’ve only been playing now for a little less than a month self taught. Really wanted to learn this song and your teaching is immaculate. I’ve been practicing for a couple days now and I’ve made a lot of progress! Can’t play the whole thing obviously, just some but I’ll get there. Eventually I’ll be able to play it some what lol at least my family can recognize the song. This video is awesome! Thank you

You can so hear the Led Zeppelin influences in Frankie hannons playing with this song. Guilty pleasure nothing. Tesla is still playing around everywhere. Still a really good really talented band. Kix from the Baltimore area which didn't really hit the BIG big time but were successful would be another band from the Era that's still going and I have to say, Steve Whiteman who was born and raised not far from where I was born and raised in our home state of WV, the guy is one amazing frontman. He's different, unique, has one hell of a voice still to this day and most of all his energy is unmatched! The dude is all over the place, running, jumping and just putting on one hell of a show and the coolest thing of all is it doesn't matter if they are playing some festival type gig with a large audience there to see a multitude of acts or if they are alone on the bill in a small club in Pittsburgh having a slow night and the crowd is less than one would expect. Same show with the same explosive energy and dedication to the performance! I was surprised and impressed after seeing examples of others that would get down on themselves or on fans for the lack of attendance be it for whatever reason, just not up to giving it everything for a room half full in a small club. Not these guys, truthfully seems like every show that I have seen they freaking bring it every time and really give the people their money's worth. Love to catch them live again and I would actually prefer in a small club setting and even more on a slow night because the guy's in the band usually have a few beers at some point and I would be honored to buy them all a round! Fantastic group and great songs from my generation.

Wow when you start playing that higher "triad" I thought you had actually overdubbed it. Sounds great!.Tesla probably has 2 guitars going at that point so they have an unfair advantage! This lesson really helped me learn this song so well!

Dude you nailed it, watched the video a few times and I have the intro nailed and solid enough on the remainder of the song. The chord tabs as you were playing were super helpful. Wow I haven't heard this song in about 15 years. One thing I remember is how brilliant the guitar solos are in this song. Along with the solo in I Remember You from Skid Row it's probably one of the best from the 80s if not from all time. Not really complicated but so we'll written. Thank you for sharing this!

Great job on the whole song, but WOW! That fast pull-off part in D, the one you described using the "Figaro" mnemonic was mind blowing! You played it perfectly without even the slightest miss or wavering in tempo! I've been a guitarist for over 40 years and I cannot do that nearly as well! Thanks for the lesson! 👍✌️🤘 Incidentally, I've been playing this song for years. I learned it by ear and pretty much trial and error before the days of internet and easy access to tabs/sheet music. I always had a feeling my ears betrayed me and I wasn't playing it quite right, which is why I found your lesson. I was correct. I had been playing it a lot different and it just never quite sounded right to me. Thanks for showing me the right way!

Great tutorial. Song is spot on, although I can see how this tutorial might be confusing for beginners. Overall a very good song and a very good tutorial.

Oh yeah! Tesla is so great and this one of their best songs. How about What You Give? That is my other favorite from them on the acoustic/rockin' list.
