Don't try to remember the moves all of these are simple steps just follow the steps and practice it a couple of times against an engine and mate it. You will probably do that next time in the game even if you are under severe time pressure pressure.
There’s an error in this. The black king can escape. At 0:31 the black king can go to F7 and once the white bishop moves from E4 to D5 the black king can then move to G6 and be out of the bishops range. Can you please upload another short 2 bishop checkmate where it’s right? Thanks.
If the black King goes to F7, it's a mistake and he gets mated sooner with correct play by White. This video's algorithm assumes best defense by Black. Kf7 at 0:31 is a mistake because the White bishops alone can hold Black back without the help of the White king. If 1...Kf7 2. Bf5, and then the Black king must stay on the 7th rank or move back to the 8th rank. We'll choose the response 2...Ke7, then 3. Be5 and the Black king is stuck in a smaller area. Now White can bring up his King to help. You have to watch for when Black makes inferior defensive moves, then take advantage of them, rather than just memorizing and following a set algorithm. A similar situation can occur in Knight + Bishop endgames, where Black plays suboptimally and White is not able to follow his algorithm.
