My mother has a lovely duvet on her bed. For 2 years, she and I struggled with getting the duvet back inside the freshly laundered cover. Until one fateful day, I find this video! It has saved our scant sanity!! Endless gratitude for showing this marvelous trick!!!

After three failed attempts, I went back to the old "stuff and shake" method. easy peasy.

It is still a pain if you are doing this yourself, but still better than climbing IN the douvet cover to move the duvet around.

Still kinda difficult but I bought my first duvet and after trying so hard for 30 minutes I found this video and was able to successfully do it! Thank you so much💗💗

For the life of me idk why I can never remember how to do this🙄 I have to reference this video every time I change my sheets. Since I have a king sized bed, it's much harder to do this because of constantly going from one side to the other while rolling😩 Either way, this video is a tremendous help no less😌

The "burrito" method. It's brilliant. There's a little more effort when you have a 15 lb weighted blanket like I have, but it works.

I did NOT expect this to work. Between my crappy hand/eye coordination and general brain fog (COVID-19 shoutout!) I started this with a complete lack of expectations. I don’t think I’ve been this happy since 2016 happened. Please never take this down, as I have already forgotten how I managed to accomplish this!

I just grab a corner of the duvet, then put it to the inside corner of the cover, same with the other corner, then grab both corners from the outside and shake the cover down over the duvet. My mother does it that way so I must have got it from her, but it also just seems very intuitive. But I guess it's not, since so many are talking about climbing INTO the cover... instead of just their arms. Not everyone can reach both corners of their blanket, though!

Super useful tip for larger beds. Smaller ones, throw the duvet in, grab the corners and shake!

We tried this at the hotel where I work, and it works pretty well IF 2 people are doing it together. Then again, we put duvets together several times every day, so we really didn't struggle with the old method.

Hmmm, "effortlessly" is a bit of an overstatement... When you're alone and the bed is in between three walls... Having been living abroad, I've learned that my native Finland is probably the only country where there are two smaller holes also on the other end of the duvet cover. You put your hands through the small holes all the way to the end so that they come out from the big opening, grab the duvet, and then shake until the duvet is inside the cover. It makes so much sense I cant believe it's not standard 😅 But as I no longer have such duvet covers (and haven't cut extra holes in the ones I have), I still find it more manageable than the burrito style, as many have said in the comments, with the cover turned inside out, grab two corners of the duvet and let it unfold... I guess the mechanism is similar to the burrito but just easier when you're alone in a tight space.

At the start, the guy says “You know how you have to turn it inside out....”. Then at the end, Rachel reinforces that you start with it inside out. It’s a good idea to watch any tutorial to the end first! In this video, by the end it’ll be clear that the duvet has to be inside out at the start, even if no one said it. 😊

I did it for 2 light duvets together in 1 cover and it worked!

It helps if your duvet cover opening goes all the way to the edges. If not, well it's doable just a bit harder

This is fucking amazing! I just did this in like 7 mins with no complaining, normally I do it having to put my head inside it, tedious af task that took 10+ minutes with breaks, and I fucked dreaded each time I had to change the sheets. I didn’t even know most people did it inside out so imagine how big of a task I made it for myself before. This is a life changer! My duvet is actually a larger size than my bed, so it would’ve been way easier if they were the same size because I wouldn’t have to go around each side of the bed. When doing this roll, you have to match up the sides too, not just the corners. Would’ve taken like 2-5 mins if I had a size that’s right for my bed! And I’m so glad Rachel brought up that the duvet cover has to be inside out. I was confused at first.

It worked! I secured the corner ties after unrolling the sausage!

I used to think this was such a wonderful method. Now I know there is a better way. Turn the cover inside out then put your hands in through the open end and put them into the corners which will be at the top of your bed. Grasp the appropriate corners of the duvet and flip until the cover has "deployed" itself then button the open end. The easiest and fastest way that I have found! I found it on YT!

This is a God send for a confined space like a Motorhome bunk.. but what I learned first time which I dont know if explained in this video.. if you have a patterned side you need to lay it upside down with the pattern to the bottom for it to come out the right way when duvet in place in cover 👍

Did it! But with a king size duvet in a bedroom with bedside tables and lamps and a bench at the end of the bed. It was a bit difficult but a lot better than trying to stuff the duvet in through the opening in the cover.

Following the instructions, then to find u f'd up the first step, this just made the task harder!

This only works if the duvet is printed on both sides. If only on one side, you have to put the duvet cover inside out with the pattern facing the bed, then follow the instructions in this video.

What do you do with the strings, cords or what ever they are that are in the corners of the duvet? When I bought the duvet it said you could tie the corners. How do you do that? Where's that part in the demonstration?

Why is Rachel acting so surprised? She literally has 4 episodes with different guys showing this method...and on every duvet cover I've bought...it tells you how to do it. I never knew of other ways

This is theoretical ok. My idea is for two people doing it. So get a bar roughly the same width as the duvet (slightly shorter) and which weighs more than 8 pounds.Then wrap the duvet around the bar so the bar is in the middle of the roll. Then stretch your cover across the duvet so the duvet roll just goes in. All the time keeping it horizontal on the bed. Then one person each side holding the corners of the cover and the duvet together, just lift it straight up above your heads but slightly in front of you and the weight of the bar will unroll the duvet inside the cover. Then make a small hole on one side of the cover so you can pull the bar out. Sometimes there are corner holes Tell me what you think about this idea ok.

If I had two people to help me, of course it wouldn't be such a drag.

Great!just slightly difficult with IKEA duvet cover... the opening is smaller...

This works ladies and gents. I made my own duvet cover from 2 flat sheets for my queen size down comforter. I was fed up with the prices for one duvet and some of the comforters in stores come with no way for you to keep the thing from shifting all over the place, SOOOOO, I purchased some nice strong ribbon and plastic rings you can get at wallmart in the fabric section, and sewd the rings to the inside corners of the cover and the ribbons to the corners of the comforter.. a little work and a few bucks did it for me. When I wash the cover, NOT THE COMFORTER, everything stays in place and I just tie the corners with the ribbon to the corners of the cover and BAM... This moves nowhere even when you toss and turn and always keeps it's shape. Once you get the hang of what was shown, you will find that it's realy easy.... at the opening you can purchase round velcro fasteners that iron on or come ready to stick on. Hope this helps.

Ok help....if my fuvet is 92x96 should my insert be the same size? All the videos seem to show that but Google stated 2" shorter all the way around but then the ties may not reach or tear. Thoughts? Help please. LOVE THIS EASY VIDEO! I was dreading the challenge but now it will be simple.

Missed a few parts. First, you want the duvet cover inside out with the top side down. Second, some covers and duvets have anchor points (hence why the cover needs to be inside out), next go ahead and connect the cover and duvet together. Lastly, you can follow the steps in this video. This should result in a better outcome 👌

I just tried this and because my opening is not right to the end it didn’t work. I’m sure it’s me not doing it right, but I ended up doing it the way I normally do it and it worked first time. 🤷🏻‍♀️
