Welcome to DAY ONE of our Learn How To Braid Challenge! Guys, I'm so excited about this. If you already know how to braid, this challenge is STILL for you. So often we get into this rut of wearing our hair the exact same way and I totally get it, life happens. We get comfortable with a certain style that's fast and easy and we wear it over and over and over again. And that's not bad!!! But this month, I want to challenge braiders and non-braiders alike to get out of their ponytail rut and get creative with their hair!
This hairstyle challenge has been designed to teach the fundamentals of braiding!!! Can't braid? This challenge is going to help you!!! It's going to build on itself so that by the end of it, you'll be an expert on all the braids and all those gorgeous styles you see all over Pinterest WILL BE YOUUUURRRSS!!!!! Haha and we wonder where Savy gets her theatrics.
Today I'm teaching you how to french braid and throughout the rest of this week we're going to work on different french braided hairstyles together. I've rounded up my very favorite tutorials and compiled inspiration + tips and tricks in my newsletter. I'm not sure how long this challenge will stay free, it's taken a GIGANTIC amount of work to prepare everything!!!! THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!! I've been trying to learn how to French braid because my daughter is 3 almost 4 now and her hair is long enough to braid but she always wants our hair to match 😞 the way you explained it with the finger placements and moving the sections from one hand to the other I freaking french braided my own hair!!! And it looks freaking decent!! I'm 30 and just now learning to French braid lol I've watched so many videos and yours has been the absolute best!! Thank you!!!

I have wanted to learn how to French braid my hair since I was seven. I have tried multiple widgets and various instructional videos over the last 35+ years and could never manage to do it. However, in less than one minute you taught me how to do it! It is all about knowing how to hold and transfer the hair. I can’t thank you enough! Xoxox

My husband deployed last Sunday so these 30 days are 30 days I’m looking forward to to help pass time and I also just had a baby 3 weeks ago so it’s giving me motivation to get ready every day! Thank you for doing this challenge and in-depth tutorials. Growing up friends would try to teach me to braid all the time and I never could get it, but at 22 yrs old I was able to learn to Dutch braid from one of your tutorials. I wear Dutch braids ALL the time. Since the Dutch goes under it really confuses me when trying to go over with French braids so I can’t wait to dedicate this whole week to getting the French braid down 😍

I love this challenge already! I have a habit of just throwing my hair into a ponytail when I’m working, and I want to be able to do more with it than that! I know how to braid but I’ve never been consistent with it, so I’m excited for this challenge!

I can French braid...but when I get to the bottom (neck) the under part of the hair is so loose and hanging like & doesn’t lay like yours does. Maybe that makes sense. Why?? Lol
