We get the same kind of jars here in England. I've seen them at cookware and bakeware shops. Also available in the cooking section at Debanhams. I also remember seeing them in Hobbycraft a few months ago. I think they were in the Jam making and labeling section. hope that helps!

im intrigued on how you cut a hole in the lid? here in england they are called jam jars and the lids are made of tin. they are screw type lids but they are not deep ridged if that makes sense? im really unsure how i would make one with an english jam jar

I absolutely love this idea. Gonna teach it to some ladies. I'm having trouble getting the top to screw down on the jar after I finish. It seems like the excess fabric is causing the problem. Any ideas?

Thank you for watching! I'm glad you like the project. Yes you will have to cut/trim down the fabric on the inside to get the jar to close. Sometimes it depends on the fabric thickness. Let me know how it goes! Have a beautiful day!

I love all of mine! I have 3 ! What I do is on my sewing cutting table I have one, then next to my sewing machine I have another. When I take out the pins when I am sewing that pin cushion fills up and then I move it to the cutting table, and move the one on the cutting table next to the machine. That way I always have pins available. Thanks for watching!

Instead of using the hole in the jar, try gluing a piece of felt to the top of the jar, then make the ball of stuffing, cover it with fabric and glue to the top . That may work. Good luck and thanks for stopping by.

You are right this is easy for adults & kids:-) TFS. I like the idea below of putting a magnet on the inside. I think this can be adapted to regular jars pretty easy too.

u know what would be cool if u add a magnet on the bottom incase u drop a pin I always have a hard time picking pins up so I made just how u showed and I just added a big thin magnet to help very awesome thanks

Hi! The jars that you can purchase at the supermarket - come with the holes already cut . Hope that info help!

I've seen these at Church Bizarre, very expensive. Have ton's of old canning jars, and the snow it coming. So, thanks to you I know how I will gladly spend my Sunday afternoon. Love the way you just EXPLAIN things in simple terms, not using huge BIG words and sounding all dumb. thanks
