I'm curious what scale is the bansuri you are using. I notice your fingers directly on the holes which I have a hard time achieving even on an A4...

Me too and I have short fingers. I have just bought a bass flute and fingers hurt like never before playing the medium flutes.

I believe it is an E Bass bansuri, fingered in the same tradition as Pannalal Ghosh, Devendra Meshendra and Nityanand Haldipur.
