Any time I’m skeptical not using drums...I come looking for this vid for affirmation. Love the puzzle concept. Finally saved this time. Appreciate the insight as always boss!
who's watching after meet the grahams? one of the best songs that utilizes that whole "no drums added" sound. The Alchemist definitely knew how powerful and terrifying that beat is))
Thank you for this j filt! This is awesome ! I’ve been listening to a lot of alchemist recently and have really been digging his no drums style of production recently specifically yacht rock 2 . Excited to cook up in the studio with this new found knowledge thank you brother ✌🏽
Wooow! I saw sooo much gold ! Thanks for those amazing tips and explanations. Its easy to understand everything, wich is not the case in many production videos
I want to thank you for your videos, I honestly haven't watched much of them, but I keep coming back to some of your videos once in a while, just to get that motivation and inspiration. It just makes me want to make another beat right away, when I see and hear you in your lab.. THANKS !!! PEACE
What about "Glen Close" by Binary Star, produced by Easy Mo Bee. It has 2 parts that uses the same sample, but for the second part the sample is used reversed. There is also a close connection between the sample technic and lyrics of the song.
Dope stuff as usual!!!🔥 I do some of those things but you gave me so many things to try. I have used the songs drums but layered my drums on top of the songs drums.
Alc said in an interview that's not too old (either the one with Just Blaze for twitch or the one with Conway the machine for genius) that this style/technique was inspired by Madlib
MAN THIS OPENED ME UP.. FIRST OF ALL DOPE VIDEO , I'M A DEEJAY THAT'S NOW LEARNING HOW TO MAKE BEATS FROM SCRATCH . I LEARNING LOGIC PRO X WITH MPC BEATS, I WILL BE LOOKING INTO THAT WEBSITE FOR SAMPLING NOW FRICKEN AMAZING. I WILL BE WATCHING YOUR VIDEO AND LEARNING FROM VIDEO'S SO THANK YOU. I'M SUPER EXCITED TO START THIS JOURNEY 🙏🏽 POSITIVE VIBEZ. NEXT PRODUCER AND ARTIST TO TRY IS DWELE FROM DETROIT. NEO SOUL
Wait a second they literally chopped that So Secure sample for You're So Sick by Your Old Droog the same exact way you described in this video, haha wtf
Thanks for this. Really good tips and with those I elevated my most recent beat to next level. One of my friends even told me that this is best beat that I have made so far, so really helpful stuff. Subbed and would be nice to see this kinda video of Daringer, Lil Ugly Mane or Tommy Wright III.
Something I’m weak on right now is decision making with the chops (using MPC). Sometimes I’m too rigid and I’m missing weird opportunities from starting off beat. And finding longer length sections to play as well. All a matter of practice. Back to work thank you
@@aldali724 I started doing a great exercise that's helped me. I'll take a good sample and make 5 to 6 "section" chops from start to finish, so the chops follow the sampled song as-is. Then I make those five or six "movements". And usually about three or four of them are pretty solid, and one or two can be cut. Then next thing you know - BAM. You're not just looping, but you're composing movements. I love a lot of Hip-Hop producers, but even the 9th wonders, Apollo browns, dillas, etc. never seem to get to Kanye's level of movement. And I'm obsessed with that style.
Amazing Vid man - im gonna start doing homework for each of these vids 😂. Im definitely gonna participate in the Nautilus Beat Challenge too! I was gonna ask if you could (if you haven’t) do a Pete Rock, And DJ HiTek (a la Train of Thought era) - i really just appreciate the Vids
@@Verysickbeats not you ma'boy you official with it 🤝🏼 you are just trying to help sadly it's the learner really it's society but that's a whole different conversation
