Learning Korean is learning Korean culture. If you learn seemile Korean, you will understand Kpop lyrics without translation, and you will be able to watch Korean dramas and movies without subtitles. I understand and feel the songs of the Bulletproof Boys (BTS). Start learning with Korean with "seemile Korean".
The "seemile Team" also released app to learn Chinese (Mandarin).
→ "seemile Chinese" app android play.google.co...
→ "seemile Chinese" iPhone(iPad) app itunes.apple.c...

Wow! I am overloading myself with Korean!!! I am studying Mastering Conversational Korean, watching these Korean videos, and doing Bob's Korean Class Online. Then after I finish Mastering Conversational Korean, I am going to buy the book An Illustrated Guide to Korean. All of this because I want to watch Kdramas without subs and go to Korea. XD

이/가 is used for the subject and 은/는 is used for the topic of focus, the thing you're focusing on in the sentence. For example: 오늘 저는 한국어를 공부하고있습니다. (As for me), I am studying Korean today. The topic of focus is "I", you are pointing out that you are talking about yourself. 오늘은 제가 한국어를 공부하고있습니다. (As for) today, I am studying Korean. The topic of focus is today, you are focusing on the fact it is what you are doing *today*. 한국어는 오늘 제가 공부하고 있습니다. (As for) Korean, I am studying it today. The topic of focus is Korean. (In case you were confused, also, when using 은/는 you must use 저 and with 이/가 you must use 제, it is not a typo.) 을/를 marks the object of the sentence which is why it is always on "Korean" except when it was replaced by 은/는 to make it the topic of focus.

My korean teacher said that when you have a ᄇ[b/p] + ᄂ[n], the "ᄇ"[p/b] is pronounced like a "ᄆ" [m] so, "입니다" sounds like [imnida] Those kind of "pronounciation changes" are pretty common (he said because is easyer that way LOL) so, if you hear something weird with the pronounciation don't get confused with the writing :P Sorry for the fail english, i hope it helps.

Wait, Jenny said that the first sentence sounded a bit odd in english and it does because it technically says "there is I now in house" which has no sense in english. Why is it "저는 지금 집에 있습니다" instead of "입니다" at the end that means am, are or is? Help me please. PS: Thank you so much for your videos Jenny, you've really helped me a looot ♡
@userstk
@userstk 9 лет назад
Ana Karina Maza It just means that the English "be" corresponds to two different words in Korean. 1) one's being/identity is represented/equated with something: ex) I am a boy. This is 입니다/이다. 2) one exists or lives: ex) i am here. This is 있습니다/있다. Examples: I am a student -> 나는 학생입니다. I am at school now -> 나는 지금 학교에 있습니다. Words don't always have one-to-one mapping between different languages.

in korean [in japanese too] there are several words that means 'put on/wear' but you use them depend on what you're putting on, in this case 신다 is use when you put on your shoes (and only shoes) and 입다 is use when you talking about clothes (t-shirt for example). You can't say that you put on your shirt by using 신다 verb. Probably there are also separate words to say 'put on glasses' or 'put on hat' [i hope it helps, and sorry for my bad english ;d ]

@rahmanadie4802
@rahmanadie4802 10 лет назад
youluvana Yeah perhaps, but I really think there must be some rule to determine it. I will try to figure it out. If I do I'll let you know ;)
@youluvana
@youluvana 10 лет назад
Rahma Nadie 탄큐 but i'm afrait its impossible sometimes. For example: t sound in the end of the syllable can be 7 different consonants but it's important which one your write. Lets say you have 났 (nat) but 났온 is nasson because ㅆ moves to the next syllable and replaces the silent consonant so its important which one of the 7 consonants (that all make t sound as ending consonant) you have in the end of the first syllable because they can move to next syllable and have their actual sound. for characters I used hangul wiki page and this site: www.mauvecloud.net/charsets/hangulgenerator.html

Jenny is a lovely excellent teacher. Reminds me my school days👦 I had a lady maths tutor hired in my grade 8 and she was pretty like her, but strict.
