This was so good. I currently only bill on paper UB-04s or through a clearinghouse. This was so informative, I'm definitely signing up for your next class!
I am looking into getting a medical billing class and certification. Not having a background this is so much appreciated as a headstart on how everything works. Thank you.
You're very welcome, Summer. Here is the link for details on Biller BOSS Bootcamp™ for certification and training! www.justaskthebiller.com/biller-boss-bootcamp-registration
This was the best video I’ve seen to give me glimpse into medical billing and what’s involved. God bless you for your efforts to help others get into new career. The only piece of the puzzle that I didn’t put together is how you get notified what the insurance company paid on a claim to send the bill out after you’ve submitted the claim electronically. I was wondering if this also electronic communication, or is this through regular mail?
Thank you so much!! I'm so glad the webinar was helpful.☺After the claim is processed the insurance company sends an EOB (explanation of benefits) to the patient and provider so that we are all aware of how the claim processed, what was paid and what patient responsibility is. The EOB can be sent via mail or electronically, which is called an ERA Electronic Remittance Advice), to our billing software.
This is very informative. I am taking Medical Office Assistant online. And in the medical coding and billing model. I would love to take up your class as well
Just FYI I just took this class for $6500 ( I did not pay for it) and $999 is very affordable. I look forward to this new career and I thought how you got into billing was very clever.
Do you load and bill the claim in a patient accounting system (like Epic, Cerner, Meditech) and if so, how do you obtain access to these patient accounting systems in order to load and bill coverage?
Hi Quiana will you be using single Medical Billing software or different software for the different providers as we can see that not all the providers go with Medisoft or Allscripts right.
I am an experienced medical biller. Your webinar was very helpful. I'm looking to pivot to having my own medical billing practice and doing some independent contracting. Thank you
I graduated from McCann with my associates degree for Electric health records in 2014. I never got a chance to take my certification test. Do you of the best place to get a course refresher so that I can get my certification?
Thank you for the detailed information 👍👍👌 ! Really educational. Can u please make the arrows in your videos bigger or use big pointers when explaining? 🥰.
You're welcome! And will do. This video is old LOL. I host this webinar live every month. You can join the zoom meeting if you would like. On my website www.justaskthebiller.com under services you will see "webinar". Enter your email address for the zoom link. Take care!
Thanks for watching, Emily! The time on the phone varies depending on the account. I have some accounts where there is no phone time required. And I have others where some days I may spend half the day making calls. It all depends on the scope of work, what you are hired to do.
Hi Sonia. The modifiers and their full descriptions are located in the CPT/HCPCS manuals. As far as appropriate usage, that is something you have to learn over time. In my online course, we discuss modifiers and when the most frequently used ones are applied to claims. But it really starts to click when you are working with claims on a daily basis.
Your videos are helpful- I do have a few questions🙏🏽 I am new to billing the doctor consults and pharmacy bills to PIP insurance Carriers. In box 32 I am putting the practice name (pharmacy or doctors office) and box 33 I am confused on. What do I put in this box? My billing companies name and address? Where do the payments and EOBs go?
In box 33 you put the billing providers information, the doctor's office or facility. As for payments and EOBs they go in your practice management system.
I’m school medical biller but I would like to refresh and feel more comfortable in my knowledge. I would like to have the Boot Camp. I wish to have that information please
Your video was amazing! I too want to start medical billing but i live in india, how can i get providers in business, please revert if you get time I’ll be grateful❤️
Hi. No! The CPC credential is for coding. The CPB credential is for billing and I'm an AAPC approved CPB Instructor. If you are interested in taking the CPB prep course and getting hands on billing training including live zoom classes and software training, please email askthebiller@gmail.com for details on Biller BOSS Bootcamp™. Thank you!
I noticed that the AAPC have their own training courses for medical billing and medical coder. Which course do u suggest I should do? Do the community college course or the AAPC course or both?
Good Morning Arleatha. It really depends on what your goals are. Do you want to do billing and/or coding. They are not the same and have different educational requirements and different certification exams. Do your research and see which exam the community college will prepare you for. Do you do well with self study or do you prefer live instruction? Lots to think about and consider before investing!
I will be very thankful if I get the opportunity to join your team as a medical billing and coding from home as a single mom for a special need kid that will be perfect I finished my class welling to get training
Hi, I came across your video awhile back and it popped up again recently! Im gonna call that a sign because I don't believe in coincidences lol. If I want to get into medical billing, where can I go to for an affordable online courses that doesn't take years? And do I need to take medical coding first or at all to become a medical biller and is it a requirement to take an anatomy/medicine course beforehand?
Hi Aisha. I provide an online billing and software training course. It is pre-recorded and self paced so you get full access and can complete it as quickly as your time allows. Also, we meet live via zoom weekly for Q&A. Lots of reviews on my Google business page. Coding and prerequisites like medical terminology and anatomy are not required. Coding is a very different role from billing. You will learn about the different code sets and modifier usage in my course. But you are not responsible for coding. The codes will be provided to you by the coder or provider. You can review the course details and enroll on my website www.JustAskTheBiller.com.
