I like it, I'll be using this. I tend to do a similar movement off the rear leg hopping tai otoshi onto the same leg i attack.

Hey, im kinda good with both sides at doing osoto gari, o goshi and ippon seoi nage... The style i compete is a striking art that allows throws... Any advice on how to combo them for more throw oportunities? I put emphasis on im able to do them from both sides equally...

You could probably sub ashi guruma for tai otoshi as well, right?

I am one of those ko soto guys, I've never felt that confident with tai otoshi though. Guess I'll be drilling this more!

Yes one of the hardest things for people who like to maintain face to face position is finding a turn throw that you are comfortable with, this set up also works with ashi guruma and harai goshi, keep practicing there is a throw out there that your body will like you'll find it.

Yes you just need a collar-tie and wrist control - however, I’m only a white belt so I could be wrong.

Just like Andy says collar tie, also most turn throws can be done with a underhook and a wrist grip, also helpful with gi if you are losing the grip fight.

Is the far side kosoto risky? Could they hook your leg for an inside trip?

If you’re controlling their posture properly it makes completing the inside trip difficult/nearly impossible.

How about going for a kubi nage instead of the uchi mata when you have a high grip or in no-gi

It's easy to counter koshi guruma than to counter uchimata but I can just do what u feel comfortable doing thats why judo is so lovely it's diverse

Yeah practically everyone blocks the shin, Mifune Sensei just used his hands, but he was a unique Judoka who had Godlike timing.
