In the video, Black Folks Camp Too visits Gorges State Park, where we explore the park's natural beauty and learn about the unique features of the area, including its many waterfalls and family-friendly amenities. The journey takes us through the park's hiking trails and learns about the different types of waterfalls, their formation, and how to safely explore them. We also learn about the importance of wildlife safety, both for the protection of the animals and for the safety of visitors. Throughout the video, we encourage viewers to explore the outdoors and connect with nature, highlighting the many recreational and educational opportunities available at Gorges State Park for children, families, and folks of all ages.
Located in Transylvania County near the tripoint where North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia meet, Gorges State Park sports plunging waterfalls, rugged river gorges, and sheer rock precipices. Backcountry-style recreation is a hallmark of the park, from backpacking to horseback riding. This park located in the Blue Ridge Escarpment spans over 8,000 acres of temperate rainforest and hosts extraordinary biodiversity. The park features 26 waterfalls, the northern boundary of Lake Jocassee, and a portion of the 70-mile Foothills Trail.
