Ok, this is literally the first push video that is selling me on this thing. Bunch of goombah chicken peckin elsewhere. This is cool. As a newbie I get it and see the value. Nice work.
I was on the fence for a long time over Push, it’s size, and layout, will I use all of it,? is it worth the money,? the usual stuff. Now if you ask me, my answer is simple, ‘You ain’t having mine’
Great video. If I have Live 9.6 and some of the functions you showed dont work, do i need to upgrade to 10 + some type of push2 firmware update? Or will upgrade to 10 suffice?
loving this.. does anybody know how to quantize only one sound of the drum kit, like the hi hat.. without affecting the other sounds? directly on the push of course, i know how to do it in the daw
3 years late but I wanted to know too after this so thought I’d share the answer lol When working with drums, press and hold Quantize and press a Drum Rack pad to quantize only that drum’s notes in the current clip.
How come every time I go to overdub and click record it deletes everything I had recorded before hand and wipes it as I go? Anyone know? Just got the Push 2 and new to Ableton..
I've struggled with this too. You just need yo be in session view, but if you're in arrangement view you just need to enable midi-arrangement overdubbing. It's a little '+'-sign at the top of the arrangement page next to the record button. Hope this helps.
when a drum rack is loaded, is it always assigned to the 16 pads on the lower left hand corner ,or can I for example move them to the 16 pads on the right hand side
You can pretty easily copy the pads over to any of the other ones by holding down duplicate, pressing the pad you want to copy, then the pad you want to copy to. You can also set up your racks however you want in Live.
Hi Daniel, thanks for getting in touch. Yes, you can always change your fixed bar length in Ableton Live to as many bars as you wish. Hope this helps, cheers!
What is it with the encoders? Why are they so shitty? I love Ableton Push 2 but you really messed up with the encoders... Some of them have no resistance at all while other have strong resistance at certain points. Love Push, hate the encoders.
That baby will run you about 800 US dollars, but it gives Ableton a fresh, but much needed hands on approach. It’s worth it, but be patient as it’s very much like learning a new instrument. Worth it!
