I hope you make song breakdowns a regular thing, for me the hardest part of Russian is "ear training" as my professor called it. It takes me so long to hear a word and to recall the translation that the whole conversation has already breezed by me. I think this will help but any other advice would be appreciated.

Yes, you’re right, it’ll be a very good training of listening comprehension. You also can listen to some podcasts, watch short videos. Even if in the beginning you understand nothing, don’t worry about it. Let your ears and mind get used to Russian speech. Every time you will understand more and more and it’ll be much easier for you. Of course I’ll be making more videos with songs because I know a lot of people have troubles with listening comprehension :)
