In this video, Levy Rosman did not, in fact, neglect the stare. He purposefully removed it to make the statement that all things are finite in this universe, and we should treasure the things we have and the people we love dearly. I give this statement a 10/10 in lieu of the usual stare score

In watching a precious GTE vid, Gotham decried his sub for playing exactly this, saying "I don't know what Gotham Sub is doing. Maybe they think they're playing a Reverse-Vienna Gambit, cuz this is kinda like the Vienna, but this is 'poopy buns.' All this move does is lose a pawn. You can't play the Reverse Vienna; that's not how chess works." A year later he makes a video over this exact gambit. I simply love the fact that we have additional video evidence of Gotham growing as a person. Love all of your vids, GC. (I also just happened to be watching older GTE videos (favorite series on YT, indeed) and recognized the structure of the gambit, having recently watched this video not too long ago.)

I’m a fairly new chess student, but want to make a point about bishop to G5. Pinning knights and taking is a (slight) sac for the sake of disrupting pawns. Blacks king side pawns were whacked at the open by pawn to F5 so the bishop sac is not necessary. Maybe the bishop would have been more useful on E3? Or a fianchetto since the light square bishop is also aimed at black’s king side and it’s really up to white whether the center gets opened. Idk.

I'm glad I don't need to follow this advice any more, after a couple of good wins I am now rated 9,287 - I play a lot of the London system as white, and as Black I play the Einstein-Rosen defence that actually allows me to move my rooks (and sometimes a bishop) to the 0th or even the -1st rank behind white's pieces, it involves folding space and time, but once you've practiced it a few times, it is easy.

Here's a simple and delicious recipe for a classic banana and berry smoothie: Banana Berry Smoothie Ingredients: 1 ripe banana 1 cup mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, etc.) 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt 1/2 cup milk (dairy or plant-based) 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness) 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract Ice cubes (optional) Instructions: Prepare the Ingredients: Peel the ripe banana and break it into a few chunks. If using fresh berries, wash them thoroughly. Blend: In a blender, combine the banana chunks, mixed berries, Greek yogurt, milk, honey (if using), and vanilla extract. If you like a colder smoothie, you can add a handful of ice cubes. Blend Until Smooth: Blend the ingredients until smooth and creamy. If the smoothie is too thick, you can add more milk to achieve your desired consistency. Taste and Adjust: Taste the smoothie and adjust the sweetness by adding more honey or maple syrup if needed. Serve: Pour the smoothie into a glass and enjoy immediately! Optional Additions: Protein Boost: Add a scoop of protein powder to make it a more substantial snack or post-workout drink. Nutty Flavors: Toss in a tablespoon of almond butter or peanut butter for added creaminess and flavor. Green Boost: Add a handful of spinach or kale for a nutritional boost without altering the flavor significantly. Feel free to customize the recipe based on your preferences and dietary needs. Enjoy your refreshing banana berry smoothie!

I havent played chess since middle school. Was always "decent" among my peers but none of us really took it serious. i would usually beat my dad as well. I say all that "irrelevent" stuff because i wish there was someone who could have made LEARNING chess not as boring or job like as your videos, back then. Keep up the great content.

I wish that Levy would have gone more in depth on using this against the Ruy Lopez since that is not only the better opening for White (according to Stockfish) but also more common for White. I feel that not being able to fork White's pawn and knight via d5 meaningfully alters the approach Black should take.
