Saksak vs Pakal Grip: A Filipino Martial Arts knife fighting drill breakdown that incorporates highline and lowline slashes, thrusts, parrying and counter-trapping principles. Remember this is only a drill and a more dynamic and non-collaborative expression of the drill is necessary to functionalize it.
In this video we show a drill from Pekiti University and breakdown what makes this distance learning platform for FMA a standout among many other great offerings in the space. Enjoy the video!

Pekiti, pekiti, pekiti....That’s all you ever show. There’s other styles. Modern Arnie, Serrada, Ilustrisimo, etc, etc....Show a drill from one of those.

@@williamsmith8790 PTK is the only one you mentioned that has actual combat field experience, IE its used in war, that's why they focus on it. PTK and Prado Kali are used by the Force Recon Marines.

@@bobpaul851 The only ones? That’s going to come as a surprise to John Lacoste, Angel Cabales, and Tatang Ilustrisimo. I think it’s more likely because the host does Pekiti, and those are the people he knows.

@@williamsmith8790 It would be a surprise indeed. PTK and Prado Kali are the only Kali fighting systems that are on the curriculum for the Force Recon Marines . The other systems you mentioned are not on any military branch training "curriculum". Now Paul Vunak did teach JKD PFS to Seal Team, but sadly most of the original seal teams six guys are dead now(The Navy discontinued JKD. Maybe the Abu sayyaf are using some of those other systems, so I suppose that would count, but judging from how often they lose their hands and their heads to the Force Recon Marines, their system isn't very good. Yes Jared trains in PTK-tactical so he pushes it. PTK has been broken up into so many different branches, PTK, PTK-SMF , PTK-Tactical PTK-Tri system exe.

@@bobpaul851 Stop! PTK is not on the official curriculum of any, ANY, unit in the United States Marine Corps. Has Gaje and Rommel done seminars for Marine units in the P.I., for sure. But, no unit has Pekiti, or any other system, on there required training. (The Raiders might have a BJJ coach on retainer with their SOCOM money.) I was a Marine for 30 years, and around the previous LINE for 10 years, and the current MCMAP for the last 20. And been practicing FMA from a variety of sources, including Pekiti, since 1995. About the only FMA in the program is a roof block, and an angle 1/angle 2. That’s it. Marine units can get exposed at seminars or joint training with the FILMARS when they are on deployment to the Philippines, but the amount that sticks is about what you would get from any other three day seminar anywhere else. (Show more FMA systems, GN. Serrada, Modern Arnis, Ilustrisimo.)

I appreciate the editing & camera angles/zooms. We've been teaching online E-K-A private classes for 2 years (training since 1987). We use the camera built into the laptop, & it very much limits what I can get across in demonstration, because of the wonky perspective

0:04 lol why would you knee someone in the pec / chest like that? Not the solar plex or liver or floating rib.. Ah is forgot this is Hollywood choregraphed fighting, my bad Edit: What I am seeing is that the guys knee at its highest point never goes higher than the logo on the chest of his training partner's tshirt And the training partners head is over the middle of the thigh during the strike, no where near the knee For those that cannot see this at full speed (probably those that do not actually train striking I suspect) try slowing it down to 0.25 speed and pause the knee at the highest point, you might see it too For the channel owner: Please continue to twist the facts to fit your narrative if it makes you feel better about it And thank you I guess for making such a stupid and pedantic point the top comment of this video by not just saying "oops" and laughing it off also I changed "peck" to "pec" because I am an idiot

on second thought I am not so sure, the hips are too closed too turn that into a higher strike, the hips would need to be opened up which would make the angle you start at different also why not just aim at the head if its a knee to the head? I ever seen anyone else do this before, thats why it made me laugh initially
@nickmurdaugh9856
@nickmurdaugh9856 3 года назад
I'm not sure what you're seeing, but he absolutely could have got him in the face with that knee. And it looks like it might actually have been aimed at the face and just pulled short.
