I grew up near castles and I've learnt more about their construction from your video than I ever did by visiting them. Thanks for being so informative 👍
Stirling castle and Wallace monument are my view outside the window when I wake up 🏴 your knowledge of fortifications and castles is pretty impressive man. Beautiful but simple use of the drawbridge which brings the build to life. Subscribed 😀
You realy do a great job with you tutorial. Since you told me that this a a try out for you to get public and communticate with others....i can tell you that your doing very well. I hope you dont stop doing that cuz i realy enjoy your vids. I love that you place foundations/ceilings in the same rotation and not just slamming them down like others do (welcome to the world of OCD or good taste). Please keep doing these vidoes. Always a joy to watch. The only thing i would criticze is 1 wall high floor. Put that just my oppinion. I need space above my head ;-)
Thanks, I'll definitely keep doing this - I have a lot more planned for Conan. About the low ceiling - I actually did it on purpose - the lowest floor will be storage space and servants quarters and I want them to look small and cramped to emphasize the contrast between their living/working conditions and those of the lord of the keep.
O agree. I saw another video where the person improvise Machicolations by throwing a wedge tile over the hatch frame, but that does not provide any extra cover for a PvP situation.
Thank You very much for You help. You are amazing and Yours buildings are fantastic, so realistic! It's really nice to watch like someone can explain everything without stupid music and shouting.
someone actually made machicolations that go with the black ice build pieces, it's up on the steam workshop! it's definitely something the game needed, since it has siege cauldrons and the trebuchets, but not much of anything else in terms of authentic keep defense. i do like the way you did it, though, and i always love it when people do authentic builds within the constraints of what the game provides.
There were medevil castles in the middle east that used the same idea for your moats as their moats when there was no nearby major water sources or diverting it would cause to much harm to the farmers of the area
Trying to follow build on my server and can't seem to slap a wall on the foundation of the towers to cover the ugliness. Is there a mod needed to do that? Will leave them ugly for now.
Thanks, just knowing you're enjoying my content so much means a lot to me and to answer your question - i don't have a donation link. Honestly, I've started this channel just to share my ideas with others and open myself a bit to people (I'm your garden variety introverted loner and bookworm).
@@BmanBuilds That's your view of yourself. But trust me, my view of you is someone who's passionate about Conan, I mean really passionate. Conan Exiles is my favorite game of all time and I've not found anyone as passionate as you. I love watching your videos, I won't always comment (actually I hardly do) but seriously I want to thank you for your time making these videos.
I am asking myself for ages how to "fast dismantle" building pieces like you do at 8:22 - I know about the STRG+SHIFT+DEL "command" and use it a lot to clear larger areas but for single pieces I always have to hold down "E" and hit dismantle. How did you do that? I can't imagine that you hit STRG+SHIFT+DEL that fast with one hand on your mouse. Please let me know. :D
What is the name of the mod that removes the collision detection from wall banners and tapestries? been looking and trying a few of the mods you have listed and none of them seem it? please help lol
Hi, I don't think such a mod exists, the specific tapestry I'm using in the video has no collision detection or at least it didn't a year ago when I made this.
Thanks! All the things I'm building for youtube are done in single player using admin mode. Here's how to do it: - start a single player game - hit esc, go to options, click "make ma admin", this will add admin panel to the game menu, - in game hit esc again, go to admin panel - adjust the options to your liking; I usually turn on flying and invisibility and turn off hunger - back in game hit ctrl + alt + shift + f10 to make all the building tiles infinite (you still need to add at least one from admin panel) If you don't plan on recording you might skip invisibility as it sometimes creates confusion if you accidentally zoom out of the first person view when flying around. Have fun building, cheers!
It's just a little bit to the north of the desert, between shattered springs and the wardtowers. conanexiles.gamepedia.com/Interactive_Map square C9 top right corner.
You have to put down a gateway first. Drawbridges only snap to gateways. However, you only need one gateway for both a drawbridge and a pair of gates. Gateways are hard to snap because they have so many snap points. Reduce them by putting up side walls first to frame the opening. Then stand on one side wall and put your cursor on the edge of the center foundation of the opening where you want the gateway to snap. The side view prevents the building AI from thinking you want to place the gateway on other foundations. The cursor on the edge of the foundation selects the precise alignment you want.
