If you want to learn how to become fluent in Russian, check out my Russian Conversational Blueprint: learntherussianlanguage.com/c... In this video, you learn how to pronounce the Russian alphabet.
As a non native student who is only 3day s old in russian language study class , I think you are the best teacher for me online. I love you teaching methodology. Thank you.
I have honestly not come across a more comprehensive video than this one. I am truly, truly grateful for this. You are an amazing and dedicated teacher. Thank you. 🙏🏾
I'm Russian. And I'm impressed with your Russian pronunciation and your understanding of the Russian language overall. Well done. I wish I knew English on the same level as you know Russian.
I speak Arabic and the easiest way is to listen to english speakers and maybe if you're not in an english speaking country play online games and speak english in them
Timing is impeccable. Met and fell in love with a russian speaking girl and ive started learning the basics including of course the alphabet so i'm hyped for this ! Thanks for all your free content man
Great to hear. If you've just started learning, don't put too much focus on perfect prononciation. Just try to pronounce them and start as soon as possible learning new words.
The most difficult for me are ш щ (difference between them) and р. I can't roll it, tried for ages using all tricks. Impossible to do. Х is simple for me as a German native. 😂 The word их always confuses me, sounds just like Ich in German. 😂
Ари, ты- большой молодец! Я - учитель в начальной школе и поэтому смотрю на тебя , как на коллегу. Хорошо объясняешь , подаешь материал. Очень доброжелателен. Спасибо, что несешь знание нашего языка в массы. Умничка
In Irish we used to spell our v sound as ḃ but people mistook it as a b and translated our capital city Duḃlinn as Dublin when we said it Duvlin. Today we use bh to represent the v sound and Dublin is spelt Duibhlinn today.
If you want an easy tip on how to perfectly pronounce Щ - try stretching the Ч. Another tip that may be useful - the "sh" in "sheers" or "shear" is really close to Щ. Hope this helps!
I think the best way to explain to English speakers how to pronounce Щ would be not to repeat Sharp but to say - She. For me this exactly the way Щ is pronounced. The way Ы is pronounced very similar the way most of Americans pronounce Really in the first syllable. Overall the lesson is very good and the alphabet is very well explained.
I made up my mind and I'm now on my journey to learn Russian, I feel like I struggle to keep a good accent in English like a neutral one , But I don't care anymore I'll speak English with an accent I've been studying English for more than 3 years It's time to learn Russian
Ари, круто, у тебя отличное произношение! Здорово, что ты объясняешь и помогаешь тем, кто ещё только осваивает язык, звучит очень понятно и ты отлично объясняешь, как носитель💪🏼👌🏽
The technique to be used for the proper soft consonants is called palatalization, because in order to pronounce these sounds properly you need to push the middle part of your tongue closer to the palate. Look it up if my short explanation is not enough.
Gracias, solo vi el video para reforzar, me acuerdo cuando empeze a aprender, como español hablante nativo, fue más fácil aprenderse el alfabeto cirilico ya que la pronunciación es muy similar.
Hoi Arie! Leuk een nieuwe video van je te zien! Today I spoke to some ladies from Kasachstan in Russian, they were a little reserved and suspicous at first but then we had a nice conversation. I tried my best.. When they spoke fast I didn't understand anything 🙈 I know there's still a lot of work ahead ;)
Very good video explain. Question. How to write the "ay" sound in English like pay or day or way or table or in Latin " ae"? We in Dutch using the writting French "é" letter or Dutch "ee". I hope you can help me please. Greetz, Leendert, The Netherlands.
Hey Leendert, good question. Usually they write that as ей or е + softening vowel. For example the word 'player' (as in MP3 player) can be written as плейер or плеер.
if we want to write these words in russian we usually use эй pay = пэй day = дэй but as the creator of the video said the word mp3 player is written плеер that's because sometimes we read е as э (but i dont think there's a rule for that you just have to memorise the way you read this type of words)
It’s so much more easy ti learn the Russian alphabet when you’re a native German 😎 Like a Y is in German just an u. The X is in German a ch The И is just an i I was confused for a few times in the video when you showed more letters to resemble one letter that exists because i forgot that an englisch u would be spelled ju in German. And an i is just an Ei in German
@@LearntheRussianLanguage yea I understand that. It was just that I was happy about being German at this specific moment because it was a bit confusing in the English explanation. I really appreatiate your videos because they are really helpful, informative and faster than Duolingo teaches 😂
Hello, I’m wondering if you have any tips on pronouncing "е" I struggle to hear it correctly. In the words Тебя, как дела, and Меня I hear тибя, как дила, and миня.
You're correct. In those words the "е" does sound like an "и". It's called vowel reduction and if the "е" is unstressed it's basically pronounced as an "и". The same thing happens for unstressed "я".
e is e when stressed (e.g. "лес" - forest) And is reduced to i when unstressed (леса́ - forests not to confused with "лис", "лиса" - fox, male and female/general respectedly 🦊 леса́ and лиса́ sound the same). "Несёт меня́ лиса за тёмные леса". C. Russian nursery rhyme from a fairytale.
@@LearntheRussianLanguagenstressed я reduces like 'a into ['^] and ['ь] not i. Russian vowel reduction may be confusing until you learn what reduces to what in advanced transcription.
On my 3rd/4th day of learning russian. I find it difficult to remember what letters make what sounds and am getting specifically stumped by the fake friends. How long does it usually take for someone to learn the cryllic alphabet? I feel like my progress is slow
Hey. You're just starting out so it's perfectly okay to feel stumped and not be progressing that much. As a Russian learner myself, I totally understand. The Cyrillic alphabet doesn't take that long. You just need to put in the effort and trust me you'll see the results.
It's also perfectly okay to forget what letters make what sounds. Just keep reminding yourself anytime you forget and someday it'll just flow naturally.
If possible a video of naming each letter would be helpful, I have and I’m sure many others learned to write and pronounce the letters but to to know the name of each letter would be helpful as a next step in the learning process. Thank you!
@@LearntheRussianLanguage honestly, I don't think that's possible, Ari. Tribalism is very strong in humans. Homo sapiens are half animals, a lot of our behaviours are still driven by instincts :(
