Low cam angle landing is easy. It's when your 45 degrees and up, that you can't see crap under you. Then just "toilet bowl" or "tornado" over a spot and disarm.
Thank you Joshua Bradwell, this is exactly what I needed. I managed to do rolls and loops even split S. Though I still have trouble landing. Last time I hit a branch and crash landed with a flip.
Took my drone out for a first flight, however when i land it and lower the throttle to zero as soon as it touches the ground it ramps the throttle back up and bounces around until i disarm it. Any advice would be much appreciated 😅
Why not simply change to angle mode, let the drone settle, take off the goggles and land gently with LOS flying? Seems much simpler than trying to land in acro. You wouldn't sail a sailboat into a marina, right?
Definitely an option that I do occasionally. Acro landing can be thought of almost as a trick itself, like the easier version of perching on a ledge. I guess it comes down to whether you view the landing as a part of the flying experience or not.
I found this video disappointing. In my short experience what really matters is picking a soft (grassy) spot and disarming the shit out of the drone before it touches the ground. The other day I was late in disarming it and the contact with the ground sent the drone in some kind of engine frenzy, it flipped, and it managed to damage itself by hitting small rocks in the grass and propelling them on the camera lens. Lesson learned. Disarm before touchdown. Use grass as a pillow to make landing forgiving. Remember that if you start lawnmowing the grass around the landing spot you gonna loose the camera that will get covered in grass dust.
