i got to say...im still extremely new at learning how to knit...and was afraid at giving the c2c knit dish cloth a try. but the way you explain the directions for someone to learn/ understand is well done. i understood and was able to follow long with no problem . GOOD JOB!!!! and keep up the good work thank you so much.

i want to use this technique your doing to make a blanket for my grandma, how many stitches would i need to have on my left needle for it to work. please let me know. thank you so much in advance.

If you want to do a blanket I would recommend using bulky or super bulky yarn, and get a needle that matches the recommended size on the yarn label. You will have to get a lot of stitches, but I'm not sure how many. If I was doing it, I'd buy lots of yarn and then just keep knitting until I like the size. But it will definitely be too many stitches for a straight needle. I would recommend buying a circular needle that is at least 30 inches long. Good luck!

You start with the same amount of stitches as you do the washcloth. Then you work it until the width is what you want. Then you either make it into a square or rectangle. I'm making a very similar one for my grandson. Definitely use a nice long circular needle so you have room 👍👍

Making preemie blanket 20 by 20 do I knit until 20 inches across

I found an online calculator to help with this. To get a square that is 20 inches on each side, you have to knit to a max of about 28-29 inches spread across your circular needle, which will be the diagonal across the middle of the square. Then you start the decreases. That should get you a 20 inch by 20 inch square. Google for "right triangle calculator" and use 20 as the value for a and b, and the answer will be c, which is the diagonal across the middle of the square.
