This was fun. It was so weird to see Sarah painting and not hear Michael or Keenan in the background and their banter. Thanks for another great tutorial! Its also fun to go back and watch these old videos.
I'm so glad I found you! Your tutorials are awesome and I've learned so much since I've started watching them. I like this style more, it's shorter and more personal. But, that being said, I always look forward to the live tutorials!
I love this tutorial! I just watched the speckled eggs and the heirloom carrots. I love this style of tutorials it is very similar to Creative Bug’s style and I find it is a very easy style of learning. Not scary at all & it made me want to sit down and give it a try. I love how my heirloom carrots turned out! It is exactly the type of watercolor tutorials I was looking for. I love the banter between you and the cameraman & you are very witty. I was laughing the whole time while I was painting. Thank you so much! It was so fun! And I will keep watching and painting! 😁
This was very helpful I started getting your monthly subscription and I must say I love them. I like how you taught the feathers now Im going to go try them and have my sister try them to. I do like how you use canson xl paper as everyone in my watercolor groups rave about arches and I love arches but I have like 8 pads of the canson xl and want to use them. I am loving your tutorials. I like this tutorial there is no busyness around it and its easier to learn if that made any sense. Thanks again for spending your time teaching all of us. Your a gem in this world of many selfish people. Your much appreciated Thankyou and it was a joy to speak with you on the phone not long ago. Your so sweet Your tutorials are easy to follow and a joy to watch. Thank you again You inspire me and that makes me want to continue learning. Again your a real gem in this world. Keep it up
Great feedback Lynn! And I love the cansons too, it's so inexpensive and accessible, I feel like arches is for my fancy paintings, not my everyday playing :)
Sarah, I am so happy I discovered you and your tutorials. I enjoy both formats of tutorials - the live ones make a night or afternoon out of a project, but this format definitely makes it easier to really observe your techniques and implement them at home. Thanks for making watercolor more accessible and so much fun!
In this video Sarah asks if we liked the “old style“ of tutorial better. I have not watched many and I don’t know which ones came before this, but I definitely liked the style of the watermelon slices and the hollyhocks better. I did watch all the beginner tutorials and liked those better too. The ones where she interacts with the cameraman are more fun.
Oh my goodness this is a wonderful RU-vid page thank you I found you first with the Flamingo and now I'm hooked I've signed up and I want to say thank you again
This is my first attempt at a Let's Make Art project, and I have to say that I love this tutorial style. I am left handed and it's actually easier for me to paint right to left so I don't smear the painting. It was very east to start with the last feather and work my way backward. (I guess I could have made the painting a mirror image of yours but I like the order this way!) Thank you!
Sarah, I am new to your tutorials but am so happy to have found you! Like someone else mentioned, I did think that you might not be feeling well in this tutorial. I was happy to hear that you were not and that the change in style was intentional. However, I love your personality and missed your chatty banter. I think somewhere in the middle between that style and this one would be perfect, but the bottom line is that you are a wonderful teacher! I have had a hankering to learn watercolor techniques for years and you make it so simple, enjoyable and fulfilling! Thank you!
Loving the monthly kits! As a beginner, it is so nice to have a watercolor project that is planned out with all the supplies needed to recreate it! And then to have a real time video! What a wonderful business model! I see great success for you and your family business :)
Thank you for asking about the style of filming. I enjoy the banter between you and the camera guy. I almost thought you were sick this time because it wasn’t as light hearted. Keep being you 😊
Thank you for your tutorials! Both of them! I only recently found you and have painted more with you than I have with any of the other tutorials I have been following.....not to take anything away from the others...it is just what I have found as a much simpler, easy, nonscary (is that an accepted word?). Just want to say thank you and please keep both tutorials. With you alone and with students. Just Thank you !
I came across your channel from a post on reddit! I really enjoyed this video- the feathers are so much fun to paint! I’m a complete beginner and I’m having a hard time with the details in the edges of the feathers. I’m going to keep practicing the “swooshing” movement you mention! I think it would be super helpful to show a good close up of the finished piece too! Thank you for being an awesome teacher! I look forward to exploring your channel more! 💜
Good call on the closeup, we're getting another camera for our setup so hopefully we can start giving a bit more detail there! Thanks for the comment! Please keep watching, we've got some fun stuff up our sleeve
I love this format! The other is a little more distracting, especially when you talk to people who sent you a message. It helps to just have you talking to us as in this lesson. Thanks for the great tutorials - I am brand new to this and really enjoying it because of your teaching.
Just found you and subscribed. Love this technique for creating feathers, loose but somewhat structured too. Makes a lovely piece and will give it a go. Love that mahogany color and the technique to achieve feather #2. I may add some scratches to mine with my scraper just to add further texture. Thank you for sharing. Blessings to you!
Great tutorial, Sarah! Very clear and easy to understand. Maybe not as easy to actually do, haha! I think you guys have a wonderful thing going, please keep it up!!!
Loyal viewer here ... I think the format is great! Nice to be able to pause and/or rewind to clarify a step. Will make it much easier during the live paint-along. Any way of adding which paint colors to use in addition to the brushes you already have listed? Good idea and nice job Sarah.
This is the first watercolor video I have ever seen and I now, I MUST try water colors! I always thought they were a big wet mess but I can see now why people like them so much. I’ve been painting acrylic for about a year and a half so there are so many things I’ve noticed that are different - can you paint light over dark? Water colors dry lighter, not darker, and cleanup is simple. Thanks for your insight. :)
Love this style tutorial...the other is cute, but a bit distracting for me. I also paint along With my little ones and the chitchat doesn’t hold their attention. So for me this style tutorial is PERFECT 👍🏻👏🏻
